My experience with Dr Scalea was a nightmare and I was advised by my therapist to write this review. I went to Dr Scalea when I was seriously depressed and desperately in need of help. I was suffering from deep depression and anxiety at the time.
His exact words were " you are sitting in it "" go to work, keep busy doing what you normally would do". He took me off of effexor, which I had been taking for several years,in just a few days and I believe his ill advice caused me to be hospitalized for several months. I would have to characterize my experience with Dr Scalea as the worst thing that ever happened to me. I told this to my phychiatrist and therapist and they were appalled at way I was treated and how a man with such credentials could be so insensitive and incompetent. He took my money and dismissed me leaving me in a state of withdrawal - I was admited to Morristown Memorial a few days later to undergo treatment which was successful and to which I owe my recovery.
