If it was not for the wait times and the limited juice drinks, I would have given this place 5 stars. It has the one of the best brunch items in the city (fat and fluffy toast) and everything else on the menu is amazing. You must visit!

Horrible service. Needs improvement, food was not great either. A complete waste of money.

First time I'ver written a review of anything online! I felt compelled to because I care deeply about my fellow man, and while I cannot at this stage of my life devote my energies actually helping humanity in any tangible way - frankly, what with the prodigious amount of quality television these days who has the time? - the least I can do is take a moment to warn my fellow Americans away from a truly awful meal. I feel a little bad for the indifferent and confused staff - they seem to have no management in charge, so they weren't quite sure what they were supposed to do. But they are young, and young people are resilient, so I'm sure they willbe able to get new jobs when this place mercifully closes and becomes another CVS drug store. Ordered an appetizer with my steak, the appetizer never came. I think the appetizer got a good look at the steak and then beat it out of town. Steak arrived, smothered in a hearty broth of kitchen grease. That steak did to my intestinal track what Hitler did to Poland. Check arrived, and I was charged for the appetizer that never arrived. A memorable meal - sort of like the way the Vietnam War is memorable. Aside from that, a lovely time was had by all.

I will prefice I'm very quietly picky. I may or may not say anything, but I know a good place or not because I was an upscale food server. This is a basic upscale American coffee shop (diner so to speak). A place where they have actual small coffee-shop coffee machines where you see it brewed fresh and hot no matter what time of day, or you can order beer, wine, etc. It's a place where you can come by yourself, family, or with a group and eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner any time casually but with real-good basic service. I would guess, like anywhere, servers have their UPS and downs but 95% of time you are going to have a good basic experience. I just walked in ordered breakfast with a few modification, the waiter said yes sir, refilled my coffee a few times, had a wonderful meal, paid with a tip, and went on my merry way. Thank you from a guy that doesn't give 5 stars very often. Trust me, these $150+ steak houses in New York are not worth it - they take your money in an expensive fast food style where only people like Donald Trump get any real service (and then it's free for him -the restaurants insist). Only we pay full price. I try to always leave a zero tip unless I somehow get DT-service. I owe these overpriced steak houses nothing - they owe me. Let our out-of-control obsession with eatting out change to where only DT can afford to eat out and the tip be added on and these restaurants will see how they all go out of business.
