This place is known for it's Pastrami Sandwich on Rye and it does not dissapoint. It comes with a couple spear dill pickles and your choice of cole slaw, potato or macaroni salad. The price is fairly good for the quality of food that you get. Many of my co-workers come here routinely. A couple of them ordered other stuff that looked just as delicious such as a Ruben. This place is always clean, the staff is friendly and they also come out and talk to you when there is a little bit of down time and once in a great while they will offer you a taste of something just to see how you like it. I have never had a hot Patrami sandwich until I came to this place, I am definitely a fan of it and the business.

Wonderful pastrami, from someone who knows pastrami. Could be as good as Katz's if they would cut it by hand.

I never expected to find my best pastrami experience outside of Katz deli in Manhattan; however, I had the BEST pastrami ever at Sapienza deli in Howard Beach, Queens. The food and coffee was amazing and the people where friendly and service great.
I highly recommend Sapienza for eating in or catering out.

I usually go to Ragtime. But it was it a beautiful day, took a walk. I thought I give it a shot. I figured Sapienza, since its been around for a long time would hold to the name.
I walked in, (only person in the place) and I had to wait while the 4 girls finished their conversation! They were finally done and she took my order which was only 2 items. To no surprise got it incorrect.
I proceeded to walk to the cold-cut side. Where the man was about to cut my cold-cuts. With gloves on, he was stuffing his face and not with a sandwich (which would be more appropriate) but with slices of cold-cut while I was sitting there watching!
Finally, he proceeded to my order (with new gloves on at least).
I then had to tell this Grumpy man that I only ordered 1/3 lb. He was pissed off. Started yelling at the girl in front of me (while I have my 2 year old in the carriage)
All he had to do was put the extra to the side and tell her later!
He finally got over it. Then started cutting the cheese, and hello if someone tells you slice thin. You HAVE to put the wax paper in between every few slices OR there going to stick together. NOT rocket science. I am paying good money do it correctly!
Finally, I said Thank you, and it was ignored. Said it louder so the Grump would at least respond. HELLO, I am a CUSTOMER!.
I would have of told him to shove it if my 2 year old wasn't starving!
In conclusion, this was my first and DEF LAST time I will ever go into that store. What a disappointment! Sapienza had a strong name to carry. Looks like they cannot handle it!
I will continue to go to Ragtime and secondly Brothers! Night and day, the difference!
Place could be cleaner! Need some people training! Unfortunately, I have to give a star or I cannot post. If it was up to me, I would give NONE!

Loved it here! Great service great atmosphere. And the most important thing of this establishment is to be able to change the channels on the flat screen TVs.
