Class of 1959/Really enjoyed the school and the teachers! Took the electrical course and went on to become an electrician! It was a cool time in my life, I just didn't realize it at the time!!!!!

I travel all the way from Castle Hill to the South Bronx. After graduation I had a solid understanding of conductors, semi-conductors, and Logic Circuit. Additionally, I earned a stamp on my HS degree that certified me as an electrician with two years of experience. Capacitance and Inductance... The true Samuel Gompers most be happy given that his efforts had paid off in my live and the live of others.

I am a 1968 grad of Samuel Gompers. I still remember my electronics teacher, Mr. Ira Krandell. He was the one who lit the fire that led me to a long and continuing career in broadcasting. After I received my 1st Class FCC License by attending George Westinghouse High School for a 13th year I went to work for Muzak and then the Microwave dept. of Teleprompter Cable. I have been a technician, chief engineer and chief tech for several cable, AM/FM stations and presently work at my local public access television station(s) as a technician/engineer. I owe the foundation for all of this to my electronics training at Gompers. If one applies oneself and learns a trade then I can promise you that you will never go hungry. GO Gompers!
