This Happened to my cousin on March 6, 2016.....Having a disabled grandchild myself, I was appalled and I am free to voice my disgusts for Steve "manager" and Sammy's Fish box... this is what she wrote:
Today, I experienced the worst customer service at Sammy's Fish Box Restaurant. My daughter asked for our table because the place was crowed & my motorized chair needed to be to the side so people can pass. Waited 30 minutes to be called then when we get to the front of the line the hostess told us that since I had a wheelchair I need to wait longer. Meanwhile everyone else is getting seated. I asked again how much longer cause its been an hour now. The hostess said that there are only a few tables she can seat me at but that she was working on it. More people get seated now & its over an hour so I asked to speak to the manager. Steve, the manager comes and he is very hostile saying that I just needed to wait. So I asked him how much longer and he tells me in his worst customer service voice as long as it takes because my wheelchair is a fire hazard. (not the overcrowded restaurant that is seating large groups of people before a party of 2. So I tell him that if he or this restaurant is not handicapped accessible then it should be stated. That it is discrimination for a disabled person not to get seated because of her handicap. I was so humiliated the way he spoke to me & left crying. He had no compassion whatsoever and told me that I should not put it on him about being handicapped. I told him off & giving them worst review ever.

This place is the absolute pits. The interior is disgusting, the restaurant is packed so tightly that if you are in the back, getting out in an emergency is impossible. The servers are rude and the food is dreadful. The fact this place was packed in the first place surprises me as there are so many great places up the block. Even fter reading mixed reviews about Sammy fish box I still made dinner plans. I AM AMAZED WE DIDN"T GET SICK! I am not kidding the food was that bad! When we returned to our hotel at the Residence Inn we let the front desk know of our experience and they said they were not surprised and that they do not recommend that resteraunt. Our waitress was young inexperienced and perfered to wait on the 3 drunk guys in the booth besides us. We had to ask for water, bread and the bill. We should have walked out after the soup it was all so bad. I tried to speak to the manger Steven Gilmore he didn't care what I had to say or my situation. We will never go back to this fish hole.

Our favorite server Gary is the best! He's always one step ahead of us! Excellent service and food.. worth the drive and the $$.. never leave hungry. . That should be their motto! !

THE FLAVOR OF THE FOOD IS GREAT.THE WORKERS ARE KIND AND ALWAYS GET YOU WHAT YOU WANT.I DONT MIND THE CROWS SOME TIME IT SHOWS THAT LOTS OF PEOPLE LOVE THE FOOD..I KNOW I DO.I RECOMEND THIS PLACE TO ALL OF MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

This was a take out order, the service was great but the whiting fish was stale skin and bones. This is the second take out time I was disappointed, and have experienced the same poor food / whiting quality in the past. I use to go there every year five to seven time at least. The last couple of times the whiting fish taste like its been sitting around in the freezer for days. This is definitely NOT fresh fish. I am never going back there again. 26.00 dollars for a tray of potential food poisoning.
