Very cosy restaurant, but after we sat down they took an inordinate amount of time to take our appetiser order. As it is BYOB they asked us over and over if we were having wine and immediately walked away despite us saying we will order appetisers though.
Food was excellent, service throughout the meal was great. Then at the end and bear in mind there were five of us and the food was heavy so we needed a little time to allow our food to digest. However, at the end as we ate our desserts the check was placed on the table and within a minute a waiter picked it up to see if we had paid, then another waiter did the same and another. We had to hide it away until we had finished eating. Then after we had paid we needed to sit a little to let the food digest when the wait staff shooed us out of the restaurant and told us we had to leave so they could seat other patrons.
I found that to be extremely rude and if they have a time constraint they need to be efficient from the moment a customer walks in the door. We had three courses we spent a decent amount we should be given the extra five or ten minutes regardless and make their apologies to the patrons coming in. I've had that done to me many a time before we. I've had to wait for a table due to people needing time and as long as I know I'm going to have a great time I don't mind waiting. If we had only had coffee and dessert and we're taking up a table I could understand more. It left a bad taste in our mouths and we will think long and hard before stepping foot in there again, hence the three stars!
