I came here to shop and was profiled. The staff in the woodwinds and brass were professional but one female employee at the front counter was not. After paying in cash at the brass and woodwinds department and an employee asked me if I wanted a shopping bag. He placed the item in the Sam ash sshopping bag and I proceeded to the exit. Before I got to the exit, I asked a female employee for another bag and she asked me if I had a receipt. I told her that I had and it was inside the Sam ash bag that I was just given. Before I could say or do anything, she went in my bag and pulled out my receipt. I asked why this was happening and she claimed it was their policy. I can understand this if this is applied to everyone. I purposely stayed by the exit and watched other people walk out without even being asked. Talk about a double standard. I was conservatively dressed and was singled out and treated less than. The incident took place on 12/5/15 at around 1:20 p.m. (Kindly refer to your security cameras ). I even waited outside and asked shoppers if they were asked for their receipt, but they all told me they weren't. If your demanding people for their receipt, then you should ask everyone like they do at the Sam ash on 34th street in Manhattan. I can't believe these things are still happening in this day and age.....

Careful. They don't tell you (or at least didn't tell me) if you return something, even if its the very next day, they keep %15 of the original purchase unless you exchange it for exact price or more. This wouldn't be a big problem but the guy who sold it to me knew i would most likely coming back because i said these headphones cost a lot (over $300) & i may have to come back & exchange it for some cheaper ones (about $169) the next day. He didn't inform me of this return policy other than the number of days i needed to bring it back. So now they basically took $40.
Again, cool store, dont like but at the same time i dont hate the policy. I just got dupped because the guy didn't tell me that & knew i was coming back to make a exchange for something below the price.

I've been going to Carle Place, Sam Ash for over 15 years. The staff is always knowledgeable and helpful. Johnny P and Rob are the guys to talk to in Guitars, and Danny in repairs is an awesome tech, who works magic on guitars. I can only expect to be going here for another 15 years.
