Great place to come to simply relax. I park across the street in the lot for Marine Park and just spend an hour walking around the trail.

Nice place with lovely scenery, but as a city park gets overrun with folk who are more interested in partying than taking in wildlife and scenery. Worth going to if nearby, but the Jamaica Bay is close if you have a car.

Walk around and enjoy Brooklyn's nature Park located in the Marine Park area, Free parking lost cross the street. on Ave U
Beware the tics, I suggest wear long pants and socks. Dogs must be on leash.
Check out the birds and wildlife. There are park rangers and a building open if you want to chat and learn about the animals. Great for adults and children. Bring the kids for a lesson in wildlife. There is also a room for parties and meetings.

Very wonderful place to be, the park rangers are very polite and the scenery is beautiful. There are plenty of activities here if you know where to find them.

Was lucky to win their lottery to camp here on a Saturday night early June. They had water and iced tea for us, a demo on fire starting (kids love that), a night hike, smores, and free use of their tents (4 people). The tent demo was pretty cool and makes me want to run out and get one it was so roomy. Bathroom access throughout the night was appreciated ha! The three Rangers Wu, Lena, and Erin was also nice and patient with the kids. Some drunk wandered into the campsite (back lawn area) with his fly down and Wu handled it like a pro. The few critters in nature itself I recall seeing was a turtle and cockroaches (who's signage specifically states they aren't able to climb glass lol). Pretty educational if you take some time to read the displays.
If you get in for camping, be sure to bring bug spray and another layer as it gets chilly at night.
