I found out last summer that I have an allergy to three preservatives that are in almost every shampoo, conditioner, hair color, lotion, soaps, toothpaste, etc... I googled organic salons and was led to Anne's salon. I have been going to Anne for almost a year now and have loved the coloring, hi-lights and cuts! I have gotten so many compliments on my hair. I have purchased all of the hair products and love them and don't have to worry about my allergy. The cuts are great, easy and last. I would definately recommend this salon. Another plus is that you are the only customer there. I'm in and out for a cut and single process in just over an hour. The salon that I used to go took HOURS. They would try to take care of four people at one time and I'd be there for so long. This is a great time saver!

After trekking into the city for 2 years I finally found Anne and her awesome salon in Montclair. Anne is an amazing colorist and worked with me to find the exact shade of red that worked for my hair and overall skin tone. Anne is super knowledgeable on her products and I always learn something new each time I am there. The products used are 97% natural and based on the chemical based color I used in my younger years, my hair has never looked and felt better. The products are amazing.

Anne is patient and sweet and spends the extra time to give you what you want!

I have been coloring my hair for over 15 yrs and Anne is the best colorist I have ever been to! I started going to Salon Organic about a year ago after reading an article on the salon in Montclair magazine. I was intrigued by the gentle hair products that are used, and the way she tries to maintain the integrity of your hair... Anne did not disappoint! When I first started frequenting the salon, I had dark brown (almost black) hair and was looking to lighten up. After so many years of coloring, this is not an easy task! At other salons, it usually takes a few visits, and my highlights always come out splotchy due to all of the different levels of color in my hair. This was not the case at Salon Organic. Anne gave me a very upfront & in depth consultation, detailing what she thought would work best for my hair, and also be the least harming to it. She detailed her plan of action, and also the cost before she even started. I left the salon with perfectly placed and even highlights and have been going back ever since! I love Salon Organic! The products are amazing and even smell good! You can actually feel the difference in your hair from the good quality products without the harmful chemicals. I have been beyond happy with my hair every time I walk out of the salon and always get compliments on my color. The best part of Salon Organic is how it is so chilled out and relaxed... truly a spa-like experience. I would highly reccommend this salon to everyone!!! After so many years of searching for the perfect stylist, I have finally found my hair care "home". Anne is great and Salon Organic is awesome!

I was contacted by Salon Organic.....an attempt at PEACE?....
Hmmmmm
The owner, Anne Hall, contacted me...and offered to either correct my hair or return one third of my money? Um...I think the answer to that question is....Why do you feel entitled to 2/3's of my money for lousy splotchy hair color ? Why would I get back into the chair of someone who doesn't comprehend color and or hair texture? One third...See 3 to you too.
Full refund please. I would not get back into your chair if you paid me.
Also..I already paid a high end NYC salon to document the work and try and remove the damage.....So one month later......after the special organic color washed out....and as my hair continued to look damaged , the strands thinned and broken from being stripped by the special organic botanicals... from Salon Organic's special nourishing metal-icky system....I decided to speak with a rep from a well known non-profit organization that specializes in Integrative Therapies and detoxifcation to discuss Salon Organic's allegations of the toxicity of traditional hair color. Remember there is a woman with a face mask and cancer warnings when you walk into the salon. Yikes.
The phone rep stated that while the organization has no official stance on organic vs chemical services for hair...his girlfriend tried organic hair color and it caused her hair to break. Thus she returned to chemical hair color though she is concernend about the allegations of toxicity. We discussed that a possible solution is to simply apply the hair color with foils so the chemicals are not on the scalp for long periods of time.
On a side note..for those with fine hair....according to Salon Organic's literature...natural hair color does NOT swell the hair cuticle. NYC stylists state that.....the swelling of the hair cuticle often makes the hair look thicker and gives it more body. When you open the cuticle the hair swells and then the color and gloss is re- deposited to give back the shine.
The organic hair color allegedly does not swell the cuticle...thus leaving your hair in tact. Well.....My experience was that the organic process damaged my hair...maybe it didn't swell....and instead just stripped ny hair leaving the hair looking and feeling weaker thinner and cottony.
...In addition....Whatever special plant extracts are in Salon Organic's coloring systems..it seemed to me that they .completely dried out my hair...worse than the chemical services. So there..nah nah nah nah boo boo.
. So the theory of coating the hair with natural essences to give the hair more body is null and void as far as I am concerned.
Of course...who doesn't want to avoid chemicals allegedly seeping into their bodies from tradtional chemical services.. ..
In closing... my final assessment ....before I go to put another conditioning mask on the hair that was treated with special Salon Organic Botanicals .......Foil traditional color to avoid long term exposure to potentially hazardous toxins....and then sauna to detox the 5 minutes or less the chemicals are potentialy leaching into your bloodstream while the color is being rinsed from your hair. . Just my opinion.
Of course..other Organic Salons may be better qualified..and not overly entiiled to perform lousy hair coloring services whilst keeping 2/3's of your money.

Anyway...peace and blessings.
