I got an idea, sandwich a kids playground between two roaring freeways. But you know what, seeing as this park is more like between the beaten path as opposed to off it, it's not in bad shape. On a steamy hot Sunday afternoon in August it was relatively empty. The outdoor chess tables are in good shape. The playground equipment isn't too abused and there are two water sprinklers in good working condition. A dude was working his abs over on the gym equipment thingy and the toddler swings were empty -- my one year old had free reign. More than I can say about far more popular parks in Astoria. But, yeah, traffic is load. Oh, there were some acrobats hanging around there too. Not kidding, literally hanging off a tree with some circus ring thingy. Hee, hee. Thingy. (Seriously though, not kidding.)

A really nice place to play some soccer, specially over summers but people go during winter too.
