SAIL NYC - Boat Rental

The Falcones have enjoyed being on Sound Waves, a new and modern 40-foot sailing yacht, for an authentic sailing experience (ropes, hoisting mainsail and jib, catching the wind, sonar and navigation, and motoring too). We love experiencing the incomparable from-the-water views of New York Harbor with city skylines, East River bridges, Statue of Liberty, George Washington and Verrazano bridges. It is fun sharing the water with all sorts of ferries, barges, a cruise ship, tour boats, kayaks and other sailboats that are passing by. Captain Dan along with either Captain Abe or first mate Howard are great hosts for this unique and relaxing adventure.

This two-hour harbor excursion aboard the 40-foot Zingara was a first-class experience for all five members of our family party. Captain Dan was gracious in arranging for me, before confirming our reservation, to inspect in person the handsome, well-appointed, thoroughly shipshape craft. If he couldn’t be given credit for ordering up ideal late-spring weather, he and his pleasant-humored mate, Jair (hope I’m not mangling the spelling too badly), without fuss did everything to be wished for in making us comfortable and happy. Both of them were good company, informative without being officious, easy-going—important contributors to the overall pleasure of the experience. As this birthday present for my wife, my son and I had seriously considered the idea of a Manhattan helicopter ride. We were all strongly agreed that Zingara and Captain Dan were incomparably the better choice—and that’s without even taking account of the large money difference. Enthusiastically recommended in every respect.

I just had a wonderful sail on the sailboat Water Music. Captain Ed was a great host and tour guide. What a fantastic way to spend a late afternoon and sunset, while gliding by all the amazing sites in NY Harbor. I will definitely do this again!

We rented a 41' sailboat called Zingara through SAIL NYC and it was AWESOME! A classic boat with teak interior like they don't make anymore. The captain and crew were totally professional and safe, which helped us enjoy our time. Highly recommended!
