Wow! This is by far the BEST Indian food I have ever had. The wait staff are great and will not let a glass go empty. The cooks are fast and the food... The food is amazing!

Please disregard ALL reviews about this place prior to May 2015. The old restaurant was named Mughlai and Saffron is way better! It opened around May 2015.
I've ordered from Saffron several times and just last night ate in -- the results are in -- their food is really bloody delicious!!! I've lived in NYC for 5 years and have found it hard to find delicious, not overly oily, authentic Indian food. Do try it, you won't be disappointed! Personally, I often find Indian food is "dumbed down" in NYC -- here the food is authentic, spicy and really delicious -- just let them know in the notes if you don't like it too spicy.

Addictingly good Indian food in an inviting atmosphere. This place is a new favorite of mine. A lot of the other reviews up here are very old so I wouldn't put much stock in them until they try out the new food. They changed ownership a couple of months ago. They used to be called Mughlai.
