Lefendary basket-ball court where some of the greatest played. There will always be a few pick up games around here at any time. The court did seem a big run down when we came by.

We visited on a Saturday midday and my 15 year old son was able to put up a few shots on this famous court. Just so historic. Later, we watched a high school level league game, attended by families and neighbors, all of whom were friendly and courteous. A great way to spend an afternoon. Definitely, we LOVED it!
The neighborhood surrounding the park seemed very accessible; I didn't see anything about it that would be considered objectionable. I say this because we spoke to a lady visitor in another part of Harlem who was from the midwest; she seemed very nervous about going to the Rucker alone. I would say I saw no reason to be nervous in the full daylight. After dark, events might not be so family-friendly, I don't know. Rucker Park is pleasant and the attraction is mainly the tournaments that are held there during the summer, and the games played there by local athletes. Worthwhile making a trip.
