Roxana's Cakes

About a few weeks ago I found her bakery online & decided to go give it a try. The cake was supposed to be made for Sunday July 31st & I came in earlier that week to discuss details, since it was a last minute order I paid the full amount for a small cake & 24 cup cakes which came out to a total of $150. When I realized it would be raining the day of the party I called, it was Friday morning, July 29th, (10:30am to be exact, bakery opens at 10am according to website) & told them I wanted to postpone the cake due to the weather. They told me they would be able to try to accommodate me but not for the day that I had moved the birthday party, I decided to wait a few days to see if any slots would open up, later during the week I called again to see if they would be able to make the cake for the Sunday (Aug 7th) she told me it was impossible due to the amount of orders she had to do for that weekend. Since they would not be able to accommodate me I asked for a refund, once I mentioned the refund the woman on the phone (Roxana) became irate, rude and began to yell and talk over me about a policy which I had signed. She told me no refund would be available & the most she would be able to do would be give me a credit for 3 months. Now once I read the policy, no where in it does it state that the FULL amount would be kept in a situation where a cancelation would be done. However, it did state that the 50% deposit is nonreturnable. She later told me that she had made the cup cakes already & had pictures to prove it. I was not In a position to argue about work that was already done. I suggested that she could keep the money for the cup cakes but at least refund me the money for the cake which was never started to begin with. She continued to yell & say that it would not happen, & that she had a lawyer to protect her in situations like this. I, as a customer believe it is ridiculous that someone would keep money that they did not work for. How dare you run an establishment where you are basically ripping people off where no work has been done, it is distasteful & unprofessional. If you are not able to accommodate a customer & they are no longer interested in your business, I don't see the reason in why keeping FREE money which you did NO labor for is the correct thing to do. For someone who claims they have so much business & orders, I don't see why there would be an issue returning money that technically does not belong to you. I believed since we were not seeing eye to eye, she could not make the cake for my child's birthday, she was rude, confrontational, & unapproachable. The best way out of it was to receive the money I handed to her for a cake I did not get & take my business else where. Needless to say the only thing I got out of this was a loss of $150 & nothing to show for it. She offered the credit but after seeing how unprofessional she was I do not want to take part in her business. Money hungry people do not deserve the time of day so I urge you to be careful when placing an order with someone like this. In this case, They're just out to keep your money for work they do not do. To the owner of this establishment, work for your money like everyone else instead of trying to scheme customers with a policy which only benefits one party, yourself! You do the work, you earn the money. HORRIBLE & UNPROFESSIONAL. I'm usually very easy to work with since I too work In a customer service environment & know how difficult people can be. But by the end of this situation I was so appalled, I felt like handing her an extra $50. It's very sad that they needed the money so badly to the point they would stoop as low as keeping money they did no labor for. I do not need credit for 3 months because I do not need a cake made within 3 months. I needed a cake for the date provided, there are no words to justify their unprofessional behavior. To conclude, please use the $150 to donate a FRESH cake to a children's hospital or homeless shelter, use this less than pleasing situation to make someone else's day better.

I bought a chocolate cake for a birthday party and it had mold in the middle of it, yet no one noticed until the following day. Never again going to that place to buy anything.

Roxanne made a 50th bday cake for my mom. The cake was delicious! It was a two tier cake. Top cake was choc cake with rasberry filling and the bottom cake was vanilla with strawberry and banana filling!!! The cake was beautiful as well as delicious!!!!

Im extremely happy of choosing "Roxana's cakes." Their work is incredible and the flavors are amazing! They also have a very friendly staff which guides you on whats best for your event. 100% recommended and will be ordering soon again.

She did an amazing job with my son's Sponge Bob cake. I just couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it, and for the price I paid, IT WAS WELL WORTH IT. The flavor and texture well balanced that there wasn't anymore cake left to spare. Everyone loved it.
