These guys sell illegal cars and then will use that situation to take your money over and over again! Be very skeptical of anything you buy from these shady guys!
100% true story:
Everything was fine with the truck I bought until I had to get it inspected. I notified them as soon as I picked up my plates that the CEL (check engine light) had come on for a small EVAP leak. They told me to try replacing the gas cap and that should take care of it. So I did. There is a flaw with these trucks that it can take an extremely long time for the computer system to cycle to a ready, and therefore inspectable state, approx 350-400 miles if you drive highway a lot. That never happened with the first gas cap so I called them back. They said to try an OEM gas cap. Tried that. Then told them I was replacing the other common failure items on the truck and would let them know. I did that. So beginning of May to 4th of July weekend I tried 3 gas caps, and replaced the purge valve canister and the vent valve solenoid, and that still hadn't resolved the problem. At this point, I was severely overdue and was being harassed by the police.
This was the first time I let them take it. They had it for a week (with no updates on shop time, very difficult to get a hold of dealership to coordinate what was going on.) over this time, I had to take Uber between the dealership and my house, had no rental or loaner provided (which is legal but still a cheapskate dick move) and was not able to commute into my job, which is very far away. They said it should be fixed, but I'd need to cycle it again first.
So I drive it for 3 weeks, going through inspection every other day and it never being ready and then I get pulled over again to find out my registration had been suspended. Take it back to Route 4 Auto one more time and they have it for another week, cant figure out what is wrong they say. Meanwhile, I am being held a prisoner of circumstance, unable to travel to work or take care of other errands, etc
So as it turns out, NJ has a very clear used car inspection law that firmly places the responsibility of legal inspection on the dealer, but unfortunately it doesnt put any solid dates that things have to be done by. Route 4 Auto (namely, the owner, Kafeel), after being informed of their responsibilities under the law (he repeatedly claimed ignorance of the laws that govern his business, btw), used the circumstance that they had put me in by selling me an illegal car to extort me for a rather large sum of money (in the thousands). It was either let them extort me or get in trouble with the very job I was using to pay for the truck (had no way to tell them when I would have a working vehicle again) and I had no choice but to sell the truck back to him at hundreds less than I had paid for it initially, while putting major work into the front end, new tires, lights, etc. Having absolutely no way to get around (not from here, relatively new to the area) and to make things easier with the lender who I had already paid significant money to, I was forced into another car that wasn't anywhere close to what I had intended to buy and was a truly atrocious trade from my end.
He even decided that he couldnt be bothered to do the other work he had promised to do to the car after I purchased the new car and instead now refuses to take or return my phone calls. they also 'lost' my keyring with all my store tags and gym card, and I had a sentimental keepsake on there as well. They owe me a lot.
Please take it from me, if you buy a car here, just insist on having a mechanic look over it real good, and dont let these guys fool you that they'll 'take care' of anything for one second. As soon as that car drives off the lot, Kafeel and the guys at Route 4 Auto couldn't care less about what a headache that car is to you, and they sincerely hope you will let them profit off of you repeatedly in the event there is an issue.
