While the food at this trendy restaurant is very good, it is their selection of wines that is hard to beat.
The organic wines and food make this a unique restaurant to visit. You should drop by their website to get an education on the processes they use to maintain organic integrity.
For a different place to take someone this should be on your list. I recommend the lobster toast or Artic Char Crudo.
They have a seasonal tasting menu that is well worth exploring and you can add pairings with wine and other beverages.

Very elegant spot. I did not dine here, just had cocktails, but will definitely be back for food. The bartenders were attentive, and the space is beautiful. Classy establishment without any pretension.

Been to Rough Tomate a few times but still don't understand the big deal about this place. Yes using only in-season and locally-sourced ingredients is awesome and the food tastes good. Just not sure if this justifies for the high prices like $35-45 entrees. Sorry can't recommend any dishes anymore they have been rotated out.
Restaurant itself is beautiful. Service is outstanding. I'd recommend this place mainly for its ambience, and food quality you can expected.

Organic and local ingredients put together in a fantastic manner at a beautifully decorated restaurant. The gnudi was amazing and tasty. The salads were filled with vegetables that were so well seasoned and fresh. The guinea hen that I had was very interestingly presented with root vegetables that my friend kept eating off my plate. They also have some really great non-alcoholic drinks made with some great juices. Simply amazing.

Spacious, attractive, modern bi-level American that uses very fresh, seasonal ingredients, with an emphasis on healthy food. Nice atmosphere. Very good creative food. On our last visit, menu was perhaps a bit too creative, though still high quality. Can be costly. Received a Michelin star.
