Roto-Rooter

Used them today, and the service man they sent was great. He was pleasant, knowledgeable, and thorough. I used a $49.95 service prior and they couldn't clear the blockage. The Roto Rooter serviceman came with the right equipment and got the job done. I would give them 5 stars if the price was lower, but I guess you get what you pay for. I finally have a flowing drain.

My mother experienced an overflow of the trap which resulted in the basement flooding. Roto-Rooter sent out two drain specialists who used the snake to clear our trap/drain out to the main line in the street. They made sure that the snake reached the main sewer line and that no obstructions like roots, etc. were present. They determined that the main obstruction was caused by dental floss flushed down the toilet over years which had caught on the drain and built up residue flowing by around it to create a mass that looked like a tree root. After removing it they took their time to explain what the cause was and advise my mom to throw floss in the garbage. They tested the line by flushing toilet paper from the second floor and making sure it flowed by in the trap. They explained that our line was not back-pitched and that the line, now clear, should function well if she followed their advice. They were very professional, friendly, and thorough. We recommend Roto-Rooter to customers who want to know that they are hiring a company that will adhere to established standards and rules of conduct.

Today we had a plumbing problem and didn't know what to do. We opened the
phone book and called Roto-Rooter. They kept us updated on the time the plumber would arrive. When he did he was not only knowledgeable , he was very courteous and answered every question we had.
The excellent service started with the customer service department and ended

I have a main sewer backup right around 5 p.m. on Sunday. I called Roto-Rooter after the local plumbers give me high rate for the weekend hours and not being able to come anyway until Monday. The plumber Josh #348 arrived within the hour. He was courteous and professional throughout the whole ordeal. I told Josh that it might be the roots from the outside pipe. But instead of listening to me, he did a thorough investigation. He told me it was the soap scum buildup instead. He serviced the sewer pipe and clean the site without leaving any mess behind just in time for us to have dinner. This is the most pleasant plumbing service I've had in the ten years I've been living in this house in Merrick. I would definitely call them back in the future when in needed.
