This is pretty much the only game in town for hardwood lumber and the prices definitely reflect that. There's a pretty high minimum for deliveries and you definitely want to make sure you pick your own boards if you do. That being said, the crew can be very helpful here if you know what you want and what you're doing. They make no cuts.

Once Danny gets your order wrong and you call him on it, he will talk over you repeatedly pretending he never made a mistake. But he didnt know which mistake he made (was it the thickness or the finish?) he just wants to be right and say 'I never said'. 'Im too busy and I got trucks waiting.' I will rescind my comments if he indeed issues me a credit, which he made me feel like he'll forget. Also now my project is delayed the 2nd time by them with missing/wrong material, served with a nice NY attitude of im right and too busy making money to care about you.

Great selection here, I come from Brooklyn to buy most of my materials because their prices are on point and I don't know of anyone else in the NY Metro area who carries so many species.
The staff is a little rough around the edges but try not to take it personally if they seem rude, they are alright people. Go there a few times and learn the etiquette, you will be fine.

If you're black or hispanic, don't come here. The guys doing the labor are mostly black and hispanic, except this one white dude Chris. I was looking through their crappy pieces of wood trying to find a good piece. I got there at 2pm. At 3:30pm, I tried to get my wood measured to pay for it. After not getting any help, a guy (Chris) comes out at 3:55. I had already spent 20 minutes putting the wood I misplaced back. It wasn't good enough. This white man Chris yelled at me like a toddler to put the wood back where it goes. It honestly felt like a racial thing. He said "If that wood isn't exactly how you **guys** found it in 2 minutes, I'm leaving and not selling you shit."
I emphasize "guys" because I was only with my girlfriend who is 6 months pregnant... He really expected her to help me get everything EXACTLY how we found it (which was a mess to begin with).
I went to pay upfront. The people in the office are ridiculous. I told them what happened and the boss said "well he's just trying to go home, I can understand." The whole time we were there, they treated us like we were "less than". If you're white, this is a great place to buy wood. If you're black or hispanic, stay away. The only reason I bought the wood from them is because the nice gentlemen next store were going to cut it for me.
All the white and Asian people here acted like know-it-all snobs. The only people who helped were the black and hispanic laborers. I bet the management treats their workers like shit, too.
Do yourself a favor, go anywhere else.
