A bit of British high tea in the middle of Asian Flushing. Great prices with a great ambiance and relaxed atmosphere. Great for a meeting with a friend, first date, or meeting an old friend.

The breakdown for Rose House:
Service: 2 stars
Atmosphere: 3 stars
Food: 2 stars
Tea: 3 stars
[Atmosphere]
Rose House, on all aspects, falls short of what is to be desired in a tea house. At first, the oversized red cushioned seats and marble tables display a sense of sophistication and grandiosity. However, as one inches closer, she sees the occasional ripped seat and experiences the discomfort of sitting in a chair that has a back too far from the edge at which her legs swing down. The end result: feeling distant from my friend and an uncertainty with where to place my cramped legs.
[Food]
We ordered the 3-tiered Rose Tea set ($32). The sandwiches were a tad dry, the imitation crab meat salad a bit bland, the cookies too hard, and the green tea soufflé too firm. The only acceptable comestibles were the chocolate cake and mango mousse on the top tier.
[Tea]
Rose Surprise Tea ($9) was a bit too light - it tasted more watery than desirable - and the English Breakfast Tea was a little too strong.
[Service]
The waiters & waitresses portrayed an image of indifference. Not rude, but not friendly either. Simply doing their jobs.
I imagine having tea with another person(s) to be intimate, comfortable, and pleasant; however Rose House failed to create that mood for me.
