The food is pretty good, and I've had a couple great meals there, but my latest experience really turned me off to the place. Arrived around 7:00 on a Wednesday night. Immediate seating inside was great since we had our thirsty niece and didn't want to wait 40 minutes. The first pain-point was that nobody came to offer us any water for about 10 minutes. One server (who wound up not being ours) was leisurely setting a table behind ours. Other servers seemed to be scrambling around, but it took a while for someone to bring water. or even acknowledge us. Second pain-point was the noise. It just seemed so loud in there. Like the music was turned up so it could be heard over the conversations, but then conversations had to be turned up to be heard over the music. No need for that. Third, we ordered a shared starter salad and our entrees at the same time, so theoretically they went to the kitchen at the same time. But after finishing our starter, the wait for our entrees was ridiculous. Our server came by to say it would just be a few minutes at least twice, and the hostess came by to apologize saying "the kitchen got slammed." I would think that the idea of a restaurant is for the kitchen to get slammed. It's not a new place....they should be prepared. Last pain-point is something the restaurant might have control over--screaming babies. By 8:00 the place was packed and already noisy. Add to that a newborn and it became too much. I get that it's Jersey City and lots of new parents are out and about...but when your newborn is screaming, it's usually customary to take them outside. Also, I get really annoyed when parents roll their giant strollers into a restaurant. It's time to pick up the baby/infant/toddler and hold them.

Their Breakfast Sangweech and Insalata Caprese are great for brunch. Also, their red sauce and meatballs are by far the best I've found outside of my mothers kitchen.

Great pizza- classic flavors with great attention to the food they serve. The staff is very accommodating and pleasant.

Fantastic food! Slightly pricey, but considering the quality of the food, I think it's fair. Seating can be a little tight, and they don't really do reservations (you can phone ahead but no specific time slots). They have a butternut squash pizza, and it is brilliantly delicious!
They don't provide bread or dipping oil automatically, which is rather strange for an italian restaurant. You have to ask for bread (we weren't charged for the bread, but I don't know if that's the exception or the rule).

Great food, especially the pasta. Compared to some of the places on the street, this is a bit smaller, so keep that in mind if you go during a busy time. Staff is very pleasant (let us in a few minutes early on one visit before they opened). Good spot for couples or larger groups.
