My son had an appointment to see Serge Alerte, M.D. today. I confirmed 1 and 2 days before 11/07/15
and arrived 20 minutes before my appointment only to be told that this doctor is not in. His replacement, a Dr. Durant somebody stopped taking scheduled patients before we arrived.
Why didn't Advantage Care Physician or Dr. Alerte's assistant inform patients to cancel. I am sure they would be happy to charge my son and I a cancellation fee if we did not show. What recourse does a patient have when irresponsible doctors act like this?
I have changed doctors and will be filing a complaint against Doctor Serge Alerte, Advantage Care Physicians, and to my insurance plan about this. This place lack the professionalism befitting a physician care group. Changing the name from QLIMG (Queens Long Island Medical Group) to Advantage Care Physicians did not remove the stain from their name or their lack of services.
