I don't think Richmond care center is a good place the nurses don't do there job as far as wound care for the patients ontop as some of the nurses are very disrespectfull an the cnas from 11 to 7 the cnas come in start there shift then they go in to the tv room and go to sleep I feel that that should do there job they don't come to work to sleep they come to work to work and at Richmond care center they don't do there work the supervisers are very disrespectfull when you try and tell them something they just walk away from you this place is just a bad place

RICHMOND CENTER for rehabilitation, is a very nice place the staff is very friendly n help you the best way that they can, the rehabilitation dept are very friendly n welcome you to their dept, they help you get back to your self again. They give you the confidence that you need, to reach your goal, the recreation dept has a wide variety of things to do if you like Bingo they have Bingo every day they have arts n craft, barbques, they even celebrate your Birthdays, they celebrate all Holidays n dress up to to the occasion, they are very family oriented n plenty of games to play. The staff are a bunch of Friendly Ladies n Gentlemen that help you get out of bed in the morning, the use of the bathroom, how to dress yourself n get ready for another day it's like being at home with a little help. I know because I'm staying at Richmond Center for me it's like my home away from home, I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT RICHMOND CENTER. I WOULD RECOMMEND RICHMOND CENTER TO ANYONE, in need of Rehabilitation.

Good morning. My name is Yolanda and want everyone to know how much of a horror camp Richmond Center is. If you're considering placing your family in this nursing home for any type of service please DO NOT DO IT!!! Please listen to my story. My brother was in this nursing home for rehabilitation and I had to take him out of here. It was the most disgusting and filthiest facility I've ever been to in my entire life. The staff was horrible, disrespectful, and very unattended to my brother and other patients needs. My brother was ignored, fed extremely cold powdered food and his bed was never changed. My brother whom was suppose to be provided care for rehabilitation for walking and his speech was taken to a dungeon on the bottom level of the facility for five minutes where they didn't have the proper equipment to conduct rehab for him. Five minutes of taking someone out of there room and bringing them back is not what rehabilitation is suppose to be. He was housed on the second floor inside of room 236 and about two doors down from his room they provide a room where the patients are allowed to smoke cigarettes inside of it. A CNA stands outside the door and let's about 6 patients at a time inside to smoke. The patients line up against the wall approximately 20-30 patients and all are allowed to go into this room and smoke cigarettes. Most of the patients walking around are dirty, have soiled their clothing from urine and feces and smell from not being properly cared for and the entire floor smells like funk, feces and smoke. Imagine that scent, believe me you would want to throw up. Once the patients have finished smoking if they want another cigarette they move to the back of the line to re enter the room to have another smoke. Really!!!! My brother and several other patients complained everyday about the smoke, and his room smelled as if he was inside of a smoke tobacco factory. I have never in my life known a nursing home to let you smoke inside of where patients are there to be rehabilitated. There was towels on the floor outside of patients rooms with feces on it left there for hours before any CNA's even removed it. During feeding time the CNA's would feed at least four patients at the same time and at times using the same utensil. It was disgusting and sad. I literally watched a CNA threaten to fight a patient and offered her a one on one fight in front of one of the supervisors and nothing was done to the CNA. My brother would ring the bell for assistance and would be ignored with not one nurse or CNA caring to attend to his needs. My presence was shown on a regular at this facility having to come all the way from Brooklyn to Staten Island at least four times a week because my brother would call every day and all day crying because of being mistreated by staff here. My brother who needed assistance in his feeding, speech and walking would lay all day in his bed with the cold food they'd bring him and would be hungry and crying because they would not help him eat knowing that he could not do it himself. Im writing my story here because this place needs to be shut down completely. By the second week I packed my brother up and removed him from this horror hole. My brother complained so much in such a short time of being there that the doctor prescribed him a psychotic medication called haldol which is prescribed for patients who are schizophrenic or bipolar and my brother is not a psych patient. The nurse said the doctor prescribed it to keep him quiet. I was disgusted and sick to my stomach and thank god my brother refused to take it also. On December 26, 2015 at approximately 10 am in the morning a nurse returned to his room to administer this pill again to him due to his complaining and by
then I'd had enough. I realized exactly what was going on here. I returned to Richmond Center this same day and packed my brother up and his belongings and took him out of this hell hole. My brother is now in a loving clean professional nursing home where he is receiving the care rehabilitation that he needs.

I don't like it here at all this place is a prison there is a female resident here in Room 105 right side of the room she's a hacker (gets special privileges) I caught her December 25 at 10:30pm I will also add this place does not have anything they show on their websites residents are restricted to their beds at all times unless you have something to offer them. Phil Buchsbaum, LNHA so called administrator may have time to for his hobbies but he's never been one to have time for the residents. My first year here and Aza a white female respiratory therapist here thought it would be smart to clean my computer while I was using it and while I had the charger plugged in by draping a soaking wet towel over luckily I got it off before the computer could short out how ever the mouse which was touch pad broke that day and the computer started crashing the only thing working after that was the pre-boot diagnostic system that reports what hardware is damaged so according to the hardware scan the motherboard could no longer connect to the hard drive I bought a replacement wire hoping that was the damage and not the motherboard itself unfortunately it wound up being the motherboard itself. I now been here for 3yrs and 1 month going to be 4yrs after the holiday. What ever you do don't believe the website the administrator Phil Buchsbaum claims all the money that should be used for improving this place instead his rock'n roll is more important. Due to this the building is seriously now understaffed I spent Christmas morning naked in a freezing cold room because "the heating to the building doesn't turn on unless it is below 50degrees outside" this is quoted directly from maintenance who I asked to check because I thought it was broken, now here's where things really begin getting stupid average room temperature is rated 72 degrees so in short residents are forced to deal with freezing cold temperatures until midnight when the heating finally comes on to be honest I doubt that it the heating is controlled by the temperature outside as since October the only time it comes on is 12am and usually turns off at 6am so this is from one of the residents who is being forced to stay in bed most the time just because I'm not offering them anything like "hacking other residents computers and security cameras".

Social worker comes to me last night thinking she could scare me into unplugging my security cameras then when that failed she lied to me and said "any illegal actions caught on or by your cameras can not be used in any court of justice" at that point I was already past my stress point since they had me spend Christmas afternoon naked halfway off the bed with no way to call for help after the cna left me like that instead of finishing her job as she should have wasn't until about an hr and a half of slamming the bed controls against the side of my tv dresser that someone finally did something to help. That whole mess was started by the respiratory therapist mentioned previously goes by the name of Aza and is white female extremely lazy does nothing most the day but view outside my roommates window for obvious reasons I won't mention his name as he's a really nice guy and to be honest am sorry to see how the respiratory therapist uses his disability against him as well as me since we both are unable to speak, Aza adds onto the problem of not only do we not have proper heating unless a investigator shows up in which case a shows is put on using the residents who provide special services for the staff such as the woman in room 105 hacker for hire are the only residents in which are allowed to talk to the investigators but she also leaves the window open through the entire time she's here. Ok this is nearing its limit so let's just say they're going to be more and that I plan on opening either a blog about NYs health care centers as having had been in a large amount of them being thrown out mainly for refusing to allow myself to be beaten up or have my things constantly destroyed or stolen without fighting for my rights.
