Richard J. Hingos was the surveyor assigned to me by my lawyer, for my first home purchase with my wife. When we went to sign all of our paperwork and go over the closing costs of the house, we noticed that the fees for the Survey were hundreds more than what we were expecting. The fees were so large that our lawyer, decreased her fees to compensate since she picked the surveyor.
When we signed up for the survey we requested to property markers at the back of the house, and we called Richard Hingos office to ask when the markers would be setup. We were told 2-3 weeks. We called a month later, and were once again told 2-3 weeks. The office was unresponsive most of the time, and kept leading us along for around 5 months. At this point we told them they either need to return our money or give us our property markers, two weeks later it was finally complete.
Unfortunately if you're working with Richard J Hingos for real estate and your the client, you may be assigned to him by your lawyer. Find a new surveyor as soon as possible. He over charges, under delivers, and will completely forget the job if you don't harass him to finish it.
