Retro Fitness

I just joined last week. Very clean, lots of equipment and variety. Great energy, helpful fitness manager their to answer your questions. Love the group fitness room lots of TRX's. Upstairs all set up to do crossfit. Nice women's locker room.

Whatever I use I alway put back. Retro Fit has a rep of being overly "Bro" and no one ever re-racking weights or cleaning off machines. I found the leg press with weights on so, I added my weight and removed my weight but kept the original weights on the machine. How I found it is how I left it! Towards the middle to end of my workout one of the ladies from the front desk told me the boss told her to tell me to put the rest of the weights back. That was 3 sets ago! If you're going to monitor every step from every guest you need to do it with tact at least. I did stop the set I was doing to remove the weights only to find that someone else had added their weights and for the boss to say "I'm guilty by association" well I'm pretty sure mid week everyone will be using the leg press so please keep interrupting people.

Why don't you go call that person out?

Oh and if you get pre workout don't expect them to mix it. They will hand you the scoop in a sample cup unlike the rest of the Retro chain who will mix it for you and even ask if you would like ice - exceeding guest expectations however, here they act confused when you ask for a cup to mix it if they don't try to charge you.

The facility is nice and I understand that comes with taking care of the machines but that's what I pay for every year! And that stupid renewal fee. So, by using this Retro just know they will take yo money and call you out on the gym floor.

I'd like to say I've been extremely pleased with the staff at Retro in Fairfield. They're very friendly and always have a smile on their faces. This gym is never packed and I enjoy working out here very much. I actually left this gym 2 years ago to a gym closer to my house, but I came back about a year ago because I like this gym a lot better. I'd rate them a 5 in customer service and I always recommend this gym!

They definitely are very deceptive with how they market their $20 a month. Once you sign up you have THREE days to get out of the contract. Otherwise you are stuck for a YEAR. Very disappointed. Tried calling to cancel and they said I had to come in person, I came in person they said I can't quit the membership unless I have a doctor's note saying I was permanently disabled.

Please do not go there. It's not worth your money or time. I wish I paid attention to Google Reviews a little bit better and I would have saved a lot of money.

I'VE BEEN AT GYM FOR 3 YEARS AND HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET AWAY FROM THERE FOR 2 BUT THEY KEEP BILLING ME AFTER PHONE CALLS WRITING LETTERS AND NOW I HAD TO CALL BANK AND GET THEM INVOLVED AND AFTER CALLING THEM MYSELF A FEW TIMES THIS TIME THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAD TO WRITE A CERTIFIED LETTER BUT THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THEY HAVE TOLD ME THIS BUT THIS TIME THE BANK CALLED THEM WITH ME ON PHONE AND TOLD THEM THIS PHONE CALL IS BE RECORDED SO NOW WHEN I'AM TALKING WITH THEM THEY ARE TELLING ME THINGS THEY HAVE NEVER TOLD ME BEFORE I THINK BECAUSE BANK WAS RECORDING PHONE CALL SO IF YOU ARE TRYING TO QUIT MAYBE WHEN YOU CALL THEM RECORD YOUR CALL WITH THEM AND WRITE A CERTIFIED LETTER BUT IF YOUR THINKING OF JOINING THIS GYM THINK TWICE ABOUT IT PLUS THIS GYM IS VERY SMALL AND BILLING COMPANY THEY USE IS HORRIBLE
