I was visiting a friend on the UWS, we ended up going to eat at Regional and we were very impressed. It had great service; nice waiters and the food came out quickly. The food was amazing! We ate the grilled octopus, I think it was the special, and a cacio e pepe which is like an Italian variant of mac' and cheese. It was so creamy and cheesy, yum! We will definitely go back for more!

My dinner started with a Pepsi from a poorly calibrated gun, making it bitter. The mozzarella, tomato, and basil was actually a mixed green salad with mozzarella and tomato on the side. The mozzarella was watery and under seasoned. The greens were over salted and under dressed. My steak, ordered medium, was served black and blue with an over salted arugula. In spite of the fact that the waiter who took my order left midway through our meal -- I guess guess his shift ended -- the service was very good. Apologetic and attentive. Unfortunately, good service doesn't make up for sub par food with so many other great options within mere blocks.

Have been here a few times for dinner and once for brunch (which was great). This is a great place with good food. Monday night they have $9 Pasta night, which is a real hit. However, this place has MAJOR problems with their workflow and this results is really bad service (though the waitresses are really nice and helpful). It looked like to me that there was a lack of staff, and the ones that were there were not tasks correctly. There was about 12 people waiting to be seated, with many many open tables insides. For some reason, the hostess, was also the busboy, cleaning and setting the tables, resulting in the long wait for dinner. My advice, get a better manager to create a better workflow plan for staff.

Food was okay but the service was pretty terrible. We were greeted in a friendly manner, but it went downhill from there. The waiter made it very difficult to get suggestions, he struggled to answer questions about menu items and drinks, and before we even finished eating, they were stacking chairs 45 minutes before they were scheduled to close. 30 minutes prior, they dim the lights for a second trying to push us out, as the waiter sits at a table with his phone. Unprofessional and inhospitable. Despite decent food, I don't plan on returning. Shame.
