Red Canary Pet Shop

I love my parakeet! To my surprise, this little shop actually hand feeds the birds as babies so they're used to people right from the start. The owners are extremely nice and patient, and it seems like they try to interact with the birds daily. I've gotten parakeets and other small parrots from other stores like Petco, who claim to hand-feed their birds, but they are always scared of people as if they've never been held before. After just a few days my new parakeet was comfortable enough to sit on our hand and shoulder and now greets us by flying on our head whenever we enter the room. I can't say anything about the larger parrots in the store, but this place is great for parakeets, lovebirds, etc especially if you're getting a young one--I was lucky that I went while the parakeets were just turned old enough to leave the store/their parents.
