DO NOT STAY HERE! Came here for a one night stay and would have walked right back out if there was vacancy at another hotel. Big PGA event going on and all hotels were booked.
There was a reason this place had a vacancy. It is dirty, musty, moldy and the incredible pot aroma around the building and in the hallways is amazing.
Didn't sleep much. Worried about my car in the parking lot. Hoping it was still there in the morning.
No attention to detail in the rooms. Very out dated and old furniture. Would not walk on rugs bare foot wasn't sure what I may catch.
I got a bad vibe as soon as I drove down the block and into the parking lot where there were 4 guys outside their pick up drinking beer and smoking weed.
Then went I went into the lobby and saw the bullet proof glass. BINGO! Top notch place!
Stayed in the 6th floor. Was quiet but hallways smelled.
Please look for another place to stay. I will be contacting Ramada international about their standards for a quality hotel name.
Ridiculous!
Overall rating MINUS 10!
Save your money sleep in your car in a quality neighborhood. If there are no other choices.

WARNING! RUN! DO NOT DO IT! YOU WILL REGRET IT! Warning comes before destruction! Photos are misleading, this place looks nothing like the photos. Disgusting, when you pull in first instinct will be to turn around, dirty, moldy, musty smell, roaches will be one of the first things you see, extremely strong order of marijuana in hallway, scary clientele, the most unfriendly, not caring, unprofessional, lying staff you'll ever encounter. The one star is only because it was necessary in order to rate. I'll give it a-5.

When I arrived at the Ramada in East Orange, NJ; I was in in shock to see the hotel surrounded by abandoned buildings. When I pulled into the parking lot I saw two cars with broken windows and a car with flat tires. After checking in we were given the wrong room. The first room was dirty and smelled like mildew. After going to the correct room I booked I was greeted by 2 dead roaches and 2 live roaches in the bathroom. The whole hotel smelled like mold and other terrible smells. The hotel was so dirty and the staff was not helpful. The hotel advertises free wifi, when we tried to connect it had 1 bar of service. The wifi was not locked or on a secure network. Anyone can use it (if it works) and potentially hack your informtaion. We checked in at 3pm and checked out within 2 hours.I was scared for my safety. I'm so angry I paid $120 for 2 hours in a filthy roach infested hotel that had cars that were broken into in the parking lot. On top of that behind the buidling were protesters screaming. A cashier at a near by store claimed he lives I that neighborhood and would NEVER EVER go in there. Guess that says alot. So please no one ever use this hotel unless u enjoy roaches and the possibility of your car being broken into.

Our first impression was not a good one. As we drove down the street all we saw were abandoned buildings. The neighborhood was not a good one at all. Trying to drive around there was terrifying - people were pulling out every which way and honking. We walked in and the lobby looked decent but the first thing we noticed was the desk was all boxed in behind a glass wall. Check in went fine although the staff wasn't overly friendly and seemed bored.
Our room seemed clean so that was a plus. There was a stale odor in the bathroom even though it was a non smoking room. The ice machine and soda machines in the hallway were all "out of order". Our TV wouldn't work and we called down to the desk for help but 2 hours later no one came. We found the cable box behind the dresser unplugged and plugged it in ourselves. The TV remote had tape all over the back holding the batteries in. One of the curtains was torn down a bit so we never got full darkness. The AC had a high and low setting but both only went to low. The microwave looked cleaned. The mini fridge was all iced up on the top freezer part and there were hairs hanging from the ice (gross!). The mattresses on the bed were rock hard - even my 5 year old mentioned how uncomfortable they were. No one seemed friendly at all - the workers and the other guests.
Complimentary breakfast was supposed to start at 7am the next morning. We got there right around 7 and the doors were still locked. A woman opened them and us and a few other people wandered in. There was barely any food set up. The bagels tasted stale. My frosted flakes were not "frosted". At 7:20 food was slowly still being set up - not refills but first rounds. We wished we had just gone to Dunkin Donuts next door.
All in all this was a poor visit and I'm glad we stayed just the one night. But hey - we did grab a good pizza from Papa Johns!

It was pretty decent just to stay overnight for the purpose of business the next morning. The rooms were clean and well kept. However, the halls were musty and needed to be vacuumed. Seemed dirty and high traffic. They do offer free parking, and it was quiet and comfortable inside the room.
