Incompetent workers and awful customer service. I purchased a phone 8/12/2013, and the sales rep entered my information incorrect. I also paid for the phone repair/ replace service for 10.88/month through them because they convinced me their service was better than Sprint. Fast forward to 7/28/2014, I went to a location in long island to utilize my phone repair/ replace service. They were not able to locate any information on the purchase from 2013 and only had record of a previous 2010 purchase (they did advise that my first and last name was spelled incorrectly). I advised that I had my credit card statement that shows that $108.80 has been taken out of my credit card to date for a service that they could not honor. They advised me to follow up with the original store that I purchased the phone at to speak w/ a district manager to see what could be done. The long island store manager was nice and helpful. I called this store and spoke with a Rep Felicia. I advised the situation and asked if she could help. She advised that if the store rep in long island couldn’t find my information than most likely she could not as well. She then recommended that I drive the 58 miles to come in the store, because she could not release any personal information over the phone. I asked if she could check to make sure that the 58 mile drive would not be a waste of time and advised that I did not need any personal information just to know if they could find the contract to confirm that I was covered. She advised that she was busy and to check back in 15 minutes. She also advised that she could not release phone # for the district manager and advised that I call back in about 1 hour when the manager was in.
I recommend that you go elsewhere to a place that's more willing to help, and that understands what customer service is.
UPDATE: I called back a few hours later and spoke with ANAND. He was very courteous. The type of customer service rep I would want to work for my company. He was able to locate my information, he was very patient with me and got the problem resolved promptly. End result, I can now go to any radio shack and they will be able to pull up my correct information. Overall not pleased with this store, but after speaking with Anand, ill change my 1 star rating to 3. Anand on the other hand was a 5.
