The address is wrong. It's 126-30 Willets Point. Also, the card I got says Colombia Auto Glass, 126-52 Willets Point. They're adjoining lots.
I had a dispute with another motorist on a Friday afternoon over a parking space, and was waiting for the cops who never showed. So I figured I'd see if it's too late to make an appointment to fix a rear window that was smashed two weeks ago. I looked up auto glass places near College Point on my HTC phone. The first shop's glass supplier was closed till Monday morning. The second didn't answer. The third was Real City Auto Glass.
I'd asked my friend to comparison shop but he probably lazied out and got a contact for $65. Real City gave me a quote of $50 straight up, and said he'd have the glass ready when I show up the next day. So I made an early-morning appointment. As I drove through an eye-opening experience that is Willets Point Ave, I didn't get any offers that was so low on the first try.
This "neighborhood" is not a place I'd venture at night in a bullet-proof car, but Hector (maybe that was his name. I can't believe I didn't ask. It's on the card) was courteous. They were working on a van when I pulled up, so I asked to sit in a chair and then pulled out a lesson plan and started working on it. He then told me to go to the office and use the office desk!
About 10 minutes later, he got around to my car and minutes later, I was told it was done. I checked and couldn't tell it was replaced, except the plastic seal seemed blacker than the rest on my 12-year-old car.
I paid him, he thanked me, and we wished each other a good day. I took his card and told him I'll "definitely" be back.
