Make up is done very poorly
Bathrooms are dirty
Water fountain is rusty & out of order

A family member passed away few weeks ago on Sunday. Based on the reviews, we were hesitant. After calling few other funeral homes that charged very high prices and also considering proximity, we decided on Ortiz on southern blvd. Aricelly was a comfort to us during this difficult time. She wrote down details of quote of the price, made sure someone came to pick up our family right away, able to guide us on appropriate service and times. Our family member looked very peaceful for viewing and Ortiz even added a chiffon around her that made her looked beautiful. During this difficult time, our entire family is so thankful for their expertise and advice. They really had the personal touch and made sure we were taken care of.

Same thing never do business with them they are awful people heartless, is just business for them, their facial resconstruction is horrible, you dont have to embalm your passed away loved ones, that is not a must even if is only for one day viewing, all they care is money, they sent my father out of the state even though me and my mother told them not to. Contract signed and all paid in full, this people are real assholes, specially the one in washigton heights eww that lady ana she is a bitch!!. untill this day they refuse to talk either me and my mom, my father was viewed at ortiz and he looked nothing like him. STAY AWAY from this funeral home all of them including RIVERA FUNERAL HOME is the same owner as well.!! and yes the awful smell u notice is the embalming fumes they dont care about the grieving families or the dead even though they profit from both. I had to go to vital records myself and pay for a copy which says he is in new jersey at rosedale cementery but he is not, he is out of the states!!.

Driver never come here for delivrry n dont waste your time .they dont care you .i came here for delivery @7.30.they told you cant park truck here n moved me to the longwood st .n no body showed up for unload me n waited two hrs after i made 20 calles finally guys came over took me to whs at Burrnett st .n no body was in whs.waited 4hours no body showed up finnaly took loaded truck back to indy .sucks

If you really Love your Departed Loved One, Dont View He or She at this Particular Ortiz. Its All about the Money too them and you can tell. They Close at 9pm and they have no problem telling you to get out. The staffing there are Very Heartless and i never expected to Have the Hardest day in my family Life Made even more Uncomfortable. My Mom Pass Nov 4, 2012. we had her viewing there on the 6th and 7th. Can you believe they turned down the Ac, But had the nerves to Say (Quote) If you Start to Roast lets us know, (End Quote) And as 9pm came a calling on the Last day To Say Our final Good Byes, Staff made it No easier and were right there ready too kick us out. I just feel Very cheated.for the money one spends on this process of life I think we could had alil more support. And as for the faucilties itself for the money they rip off of you, they could make it look alil better, Have blinds in the bathrooms that actually close you from the view of the streets. Maybe even spend lil on toliet paper, maybe also have someone to check in on these things. I mean i can go on and on about this place but you get the idea. I could only wish to be a fly o the wall to see what they really did when my mom was cremated..
