Providence

Great decor, DJ was on point.

I am an MC for Shine Events and I Love Providence. Great Service if your going to book A Mitzvah etc.

Providence is an old church turned club with multiple levels, though this review is for the event space at Providence on the main floor/second floor. Love the decor and the high church ceilings and that there are alcoves around the room which allow for little pockets of conversation.

It can be a bit dark, so be sure to turn up the lights and take advantage of the booming sound system (for announcements or music, whatever you event requires).

Restrooms for the event space are on the second floor which overlooks the first. It affords great views of the crowd but you'll want to take advantage of the venue's stanchions to keep your event downstairs.

Catering is standard and I heard rave reviews about the food, but unfortunately can't comment as I only had bites of the fries. The bar was very accommodating with our menu and was very pleasant. Pricing for both food and drinks were reasonable.

Note: Cell service in this space is just awful if even existent; they don't have an open WiFi network which is good so you can limit it to no more than six devices for your event (but not at registration, it's both a cell service AND internal WiFI deadzone). So, don't plan to be able to have your guests able to post.

We had our Christmas party here last year. The service is excellent. The food is great and drinks are off the chain. I can't wait to go again this year.

I did not try the restaurant. They advertised a MJ nite (this was the day after MJ passed). We got there the crowd was unimpressive. The music had no hint of MJ in it, when asked, no one from Providence knew that it was MJ nite.

Even after signing up for a guest list (Nick GQ List is lame) they wanted to charge us $20 each. No way Jose!

Not going back here. Ever!
