Progressive Medical Associates: Nolan Marc Anthon MD

Dr. Marc Nolan is a thoughtful professional . Never makes me feel rushed even though he has a busy practice. He is very experienced, always careful and attentive and knows just how to explain complicated things in more simple terms. He examines with an expert eye. His demeanor puts me at ease and allows me discuss any problems/concerns I have without being judgmental or dismissive. He is always focused on the issues at hand. Best move I made making him my cardiologist. I have heard his patients talking so nice about him in the waiting room too. He is highly respected in my book.

I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about. Unfortunately for me I see many doctors. Dr. Nolan is the very best doctor I have ever been to. He is thorough ,never rushes you , answers all your questions and you always feel he is very concerned about your issues.
A matter of fact I am about to change my insurance coverage the one doctor I made sure was on my new plan was Dr Nolan.
I have also never had a billing problem. I have never paid any thing more than my standard co-payment.
Just to let you know I have been Dr Nolan,s patient for almost 8 years.

I wish I had read the previous review before I started seeing Dr. Nolan. He's not a bad doctor but definitely looks to scam you. My first issue: He stopped accepting Aetna and while I was an existing patient, I was never notified. Second issue: I went in because of bruised ribs. He spent 5 minutes with me asking where they hurt, then recommended x-rays. Since it wouldn't make a difference of broken or not, I didn't get the x-rays done. I did however, receive a bill for $280 for the FIVE minutes it took Dr. Nolan to tell me I should get X-rays. This guy is part of the problem with our medical system.

I have been a patient of Dr. Nolan's for the last 10 years! He cares not only for the patient, but their entire well being. That is why I continued to stay with him, even after I moved out of state.

Do not go to Dr Nolan or any other Progressive Medical Associates doctor unless you are looking to get scammed out of money. I went for a routine physical (covered fully by my insurance. When I left the office they tried to charge me $500 for the physical on the spot. I asked for a breakdown of the charges and the person behind the desk handed me an envelop with chicken scratched hand writing. When I asked him why it wasn't covered by insurance he said "We're not going to submit the claim because it probably won't go through." At that point I asked to speak to the office manager.

After explaining my situation he told me it wasn't a physical....the office manager from a different building was telling me I hadn't got a regular check up physical. I explained that the doctor had done everything they do in a physical and I had he finally agreed to submit the claim but asked me to leave a credit card number. I refused realizing that they would just charge it. He immediately threatened me with collections....this was 10 mins after I had finished up with Dr. Nolan.

Upon receiving a letter from my insurance company saying that I would owe Progressive Medical Associates over $500 I called my insurance company and found out they purposely coded my claim wrong so it appeared not to be a physical. I got the office manager on the phone and he admitted to me that "they don't like to go through insurance companies because they don't pay." I eventually got them to code the claim as a physical but the tossed in a test that my insurance wont pay. In the end this has taken 3 months and because I did the test at the doctor's suggestion I am going to end up paying $440 for a routine physical.

THIS IS A SCAM. DO NOT GO TO PROGRESSIVE MEDICAL ASSOCIATES!

The only thing I can do now is rant on review sites to protect others from a complete and utter rip off.
