For months my school had our graduating senior trip planned. On our contract the scheduled departure time was for 6:30 am. The reason we chose that time is because of the trip duration as well as the planned events. We did not depart for our trip until 10:00 AM. My students were in front of the school at 5:30 AM to ensure that the trip moved on time and the bus would not be held up. For nearly 5 hours we waited which was nearly what the trip would have taken. The bus arrived and did not have the proper tags which required that we pass by New Jersey and pick them up. Why would you send a bus without tags I do not know. The bus had broken arm rests as well as broken TVs to go along with an air conditioner that had to be turned off because the bus was so old. We arrived to VA Beach with 10 minutes to spare before having to board our cruise ship which we were not changed for. Through out the Trip our driver Luis was extremely unprofessional complaining about how much he was getting paid and how the company lied to him about what his duties would be. At one point he told me that he would not follow my itinerary because it involved to much driving from him. How is this possible if the itinerary was sent and no problems were discussed? On Saturday we had two 45 minute drives to and from Williamsburg and then from the beach to the hotel yet Luis continued to demand that he was not being paid enough money for this trip.Throughout the trip my colleagues and I had to set the GPS for the driver and even use our phones to help him navigate. He accused the students and a fellow chaperon of sitting on a seat backwards and claimed that he missed an exit that added 1 hour to our trip because of it. When we arrived to our school he drove off before we were able to check the inside of the bus for any last minute items. After multiple calls, texts, and emails we have not yet spoken to anyone even though we were promised a price adjustment. This was the worse trip that my school has been on and My graduating seniors will never forget the poor treatment.
