Preschool of America

This school is fabulous. The teachers are caring and loving. The facility is HUGE and clean. They even have an indoor gym for rainy days. My son is learning MATH and he is 3 1/2. Not to mention, Mandarin, yoga, dance, Spanish and Kung Fu. When my son has a hard morning saying goodbye, they call me to update me later that morning on how he is feeling. The women running the place are amazing, too. Love this school.

This school has some of the greatest teacher... Whom I know personally... Hard working... Trusting... Educated... Caring. However the director and owner who manage and direct Preschool of America only care about the 2000 dollars a month they receive for your child... The teachers are only allowed one sick day at a time. If they take two in a row they get docked for their pay. No teacher can afford the health benefits. No one has benefits, their unless they are on Medicaid. The raises they receive are irregular and subject to change. In fact the teachers of Lexington Avenue Preschool of America haven’t received a raise in 4 years. These teachers get paid 9 and 10 dollars an hour. They raise the prices on parents constantly and the children do not see it. The department of health has been called on this POA many times. The have had faulty air conditioners and did not inform the parents at Lexington. At West End the ratios are always off. And when ever the Department of Health is called the director rushes and scrambles to fix them and forces the teachers to work through breaks so they will not get into trouble. And when these teacher voted in a union. The owner promised that the teacher can choose to have a union if they wanted with no retaliation. Then decided to terminate all the teachers. Is this a place you want to put your kids? A place with law suits left and right... Horrible health and safety conditions for children. A high turnover rate where teachers come and go at management’s wish. In fact the director spends more time here harassing teachers then focusing on the education of the children.. If your child goes to this facility. TAKE THEM OUT!!! River school across the street is way better. But I know that I rather River School then Preschool of America. Preschool treats their workers like second class citizens and there children like dollar bills. PARENTS BEWARE!

Hey, we just started here and the teachers and administrative staff have been great. Also very nice facilities and all kinds of special classes usually not found in a preschool (like karate, Spanish class, piano, etc). We're very pleased w/it.
