Premier OBGYN: Campanella Michael MD & Kokkinakis Simon MD

I am farily new to the NYC area and was a little concerned about receiving obstetrical care here due to horror stories I had heard from local friends. When I became pregnant with my second child, I did lots of research and settled on using Herzog & Associates. I was randomly assigned to Dr. Campanella. He has far exceeded my expectations. I thought I had a good doctor for the delivery of my first child however now that I have been seeing Dr. Campanella, I realize that my previous doctor was far from excellent. Dr. Campanella has set a whole new standard in obstetrical care for me! He is extremely patient, upbeat, and has the most wonderful bedside manner....he had to deliver some potentially scary news to me and he did it with such care and sensitivity. I really like the fact that he remembers his patients, even between 4 week visits. I don't have to explain my situation to him every time I go in, like I had to with my previous doctor. Dr. Campanella seems to truly care about his patients and each individual's needs. Maybe because he is younger and perhaps less experienced (although it is obvious he has experience and great training)....he does not seem burnt out or bored with his work. If he is, it does not show. It is rare these days to find a doctor who is not extremely hurried or seemingly detached from their work. I feel like I am his only patient during my visits and I could not be more pleased or confident in his care. I highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a sincere, attentive doctor who obviously enjoys his job and treats patients with respect!
