Preferred Relocation

Great experience! Cal was extremely helpful and was able to make my move a seamless process. The amount quoted was the same as I was charged. I have had experiences in the past with other moving companies where many hidden fees were present. However, no hidden fees were present in this case and every promise made/price quoted was followed through with. The individuals that moved my items were also extremely helpful and I had absolutely no issues with any damaged items, nor any lost items. The entire process was smooth and easy, I definitely recommend using this moving company in the future.

I use this relocation service on recommendation. But personally I will not refer them to anyone for a reason. I shipped my luggage on October 31st with the latest estimated arrival of nov 17th. We tried to reach Preferred relocation 'n' number of times and it always goes to voicemail and we wait for them to call back and they never do. One day we continuously called and luckily one lady picked up the call and told us that the luggage is estimated to arrive by nov 26th. This is heights that it is going to be a month to reach my stuff from NJ to CA and plus they would not even inform you of the delay by giving a phone call. Not a single time after they took the luggage they have called us for giving us the updates of it. I feel this is not the right way of service. I am very much disappointed. Hope I get my stuff by the date that they have now provided. But I personally would not recommend them.

The moving experience I had with Preferred Relocation (Hackensack, NJ) was, without question, the worst experience I have ever had with a service related organization in my lifetime. Preferred moved me from CT to OH in 2014 so when it was time for me to move back to CT in late 2015 I decided to call them to get a quote. The previous person I had worked with was no longer with Preferred so I was told I needed to work with Cal, the sales guy. Cal pulled up my original quote from 2014, I provided a list of additional belongings to be moved back to CT and Cal sent me a binding estimate. The estimate was competitive so I decided to go with Preferred. What a HUGE mistake!! Firstly, I could not get a solid date from Preferred as to when they would be in Ohio to pack my belongings. Even after receiving a firm commitment, the truck showed up a day late. As the movers began to pack my belongings into the truck I was told that the truck did not have enough space to hold all of my belongings. I was told that Cal had mis-calculated the amount of cubic feet needed to pack all of my belongings. The movers were actually going to leave my house in Ohio with belongings still in the house. I explained that my lease was up in 3 days and that all belongings needed to be moved into the garage at a minimum. They reluctantly moved my remaining belongings into the garage.
During this fiasco, I was informed by the dispatcher, Alex, as well as by Cal that another truck would be in Ohio the next day to pick up the remainder of my belongings. This never happened. After waiting 3 days, I contacted Alex and was informed that it would be at least a week to 10 days before a second truck would be in Ohio to pick up the remainder of my belongings to bring them to CT. Alex displayed an attitude of arrogance and dismissiveness during every interaction I had with him. When I informed my leasing company in Ohio of the delay in picking up my belongings that were in the garage, they said they could not store my belongings any longer and that they would be discarded.
Due to Preferreds’ mis-calculation, lies, and outright lack of customer service skills I lost over $3,000.00 in personal belongings not including thousands of dollars in tropical fish that I transported in a bucket from OH to CT because the fish tank could not fit on the truck.
On top of all this I was charged an additional $1400.00 because of the calculation mistake made by Preferred. They refused to deliver my belongings to CT until they were paid in full! Simply criminal!!
Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from Preferred Relocation. I found out, after the fact, that Preferred Relocation is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau and has had 26 complaints filed against them in the past 3 years! My complaint will be number 27!

Actually, I always hate moving, because I noticed that it is usually end up with breaking something. And for that I decided to call a professional mover and after researching numerous moving companies we dealt with Preferred Relocation. Because by reading some google reviews and buy with talking with them, they ensured me that they can help without breaking anything.
It was a great moving experience ever. A representative from Preferred Relocation (Sorry I forget his name) was always with us. He managed everything more than professionally. He is a highly knowledgeable person ever I work with. He and his team took care all of my furniture and other instruments. I just love Preferred Relocation and their friendly representative.

When I was preparing for my two bedroom move, the last thing on my mind was trying to figure out a reputable moving company. There were so many in my area that the thought of calling them all was daunting. On the advice of a friend, I called Preferred Relocation. Customer service was very friendly and gave me a great quote. They were able to answer all my questions and concerns and even assured me that my belongings could be reassembled by their staff upon arrival at my new location.

On the day of the move, the movers showed up right on time and were very careful loading my furniture and boxes so they would not hit anything on the doorways or the truck. I appreciated this very much. They were kind, professional, and knew exactly what they were doing. When everything was packed, they told me they would be in communication the whole time, so I knew exactly when they would arrive.

If you are looking for a great moving company, look no further. This company provided outstanding service, even helping me set up my belongings in my new home once they arrived. The service they provided during my move was exactly as described in the beginning. Kudos Preferred Relocation and a 5 star review.
