Potamkin Cadillac Buick Chevrolet

I brought my car to the Potamkin service department in for an inspection, and to repair an electrical problem with my speed sensor. The electrical problem had been looked at by some 3rd party shops, but I decided it needed to be seen by a GM dealership familiar with my Cavalier. My car has over 100,000 miles and has a lot of exterior wear and tear, but she still deserves the treatment of a shiny new car.

I dropped off my car on a Monday, and it wasn't ready until Wednesday of the following week. When I picked it up that Thursday, it was a little after 6pm, and the shop closes at 6:30pm. After I paid, I waited for the car to come around for me to take it home. From where I was standing I could hear my engine revving over and over again. After a while of this, my service rep Richie walked by me with a jump kit, gave me a sheepish look, and said my car would be ready in just a few more minutes. When he pulled up, he explained that my car had to be jump started, and that my battery needs to be changed. I was surprised since this wasn't a problem he'd told me about before.

I have several complaints. 1) Why wasn't my battery tested as part of the "multi-point inspection"? 2) Why wasn't I given the option or an estimate for having my battery repaired at the dealership? Regardless of their closing time, they should never have sent me away without testing my battery and making sure my car was safe.

Additionally, the e-mail confirming my appointment sent me to their temporary garage in Harlem. I understand their location recently underwent repairs, but they needed to update their form letter e-mails. I lost an hour before even dropping off the car in the first place.

David did terrific job describing the car and going over every process of the lease.
Jeremy was terrific and very helpful and honest through out the whole process.

I tried giving Potemkin 0 stars but it wouldn't allow it. Worst customer service, even worst sales department. Service department sucks too. I bought a car there a little over a year ago. Within that year 7 times it had to be serviced. Can't get any help...would NEVER use them again

Requested service for my Chevy on Tuesday via the Web for Friday which was available on the calendar, never received a confirmation. Replied to scheduling original email and requested confirm, no response. Called the person listed on the email and left a voice mail, no response. Contacted their chat in the evening and was told someone from service will call me back, no response. Day of scheduled visit went to 51st Street location to be greeted with a big notice to go to 126th Street. Contacted chat again and was told to go to 51...

So I now drive to 126th and the place is closed, I am calling on every phone number listed and no answer. Their Hyundai and mitsubishi service next door is open for business!

2 stars for having chat reps off hours, even though they did not provide me with correct information. Wasted 3 hours waiting/driving around.

update:

Made another service appointment and brought car in 7:15am for a recall and a service bulletin, Guy was courteous and had me out in 5 mins. Called the next day and was told they are waiting for a part, would have been nice if I got that call instead of waiting.

Had my car next day with all the recalls/service bulletins completed. Car was as dirty as I remember, some dealerships offer to wash it, guess this one doesn't.

Raising my rating from 2 to 3 as it's still not quite a 4 or 5 combined but definitely on my radar to come back to and see if we can improve this experience.

09/04/2015 - revising to two stars after waiting almost 2.5 hours for an oil change only to review dashcam video and find out it was done almost an hour prior to me getting the car and my vehicle was parked...only later to be moved to get tire pressure adjusted because I asked my service advisor about it. That took almost 10 minutes alone and utilized 2 techs while the engine was running. J. Bruno Jr has a link to the video.

Potamkin chevrolet by far the worst dealership I ever dealt with I had an appointment at 10 am for maintenance and to checkout a problem I was experiencing with the gears shifting I requested to be able to have a test drive with a mechanic so I was told that I can do so after 1:30 after sitting so many hours I went over to Steve Jefferson who was my service rep he told me that now is lunch so I can't test drive the car I waited until 3pm and then was notified that I can't go on a test drive that day anymore and my car needs to stay there overnight!!! So I asked Steve if I leave it over will the maintenance and problem be solved he answered me yes and I'll call u at 8am with an update the next morning by 11am I saw that I'm not getting a call so I called up myself and was told I can come over and test drive with a mechanic. I got there only to get nasty attitude that nothing is wrong with my car and I should get out of there and go to a different dealership!!!! So I aksed what's with the maintenance that was supposed to be done so he Steve had the nerve to tell me that I have to schedule an appointment for that!!!! I walked out knowing that I wasted 2 days of work already and my car still hasn't been fixed and no maintenance done!!!! I couldn't hold myself back anymore and decided to go in to a local mechanic and pay a diagnostic fee and get my car fixed since it's not shifting gears and it's using excessive gas I went on a test drive and 10 seconds later the mechanic told me what's wrong with my car!!!!!! I called up Steve and told him what the problem was and he sounded very nice over the phone and offered me the next day an appointment and I mentioned that my maintenance wasn't done yet, he promised to take care of both issues. I walked in the next day at 10am only to find out that I was scammed a 3rd time by Steve but didn't act like Steve that I spoke with on the phone!!!! He ordered me to sit in the car until the mechanic comes I waited patiently and after 2 hours I asked him what's going on he told me the mechanic Roger will be with you in 5 minutes! An hour later I haven't heard from anyone I went back in only to get nasty disgusting attitude from Steve that I don't give a shi* to how many mechanics you went he's not GM authorized and u can leave there's nothing wrong with the car!!! I wasted 3 days of work and I'm back to square one not the gears fixed and no maintenance done!!!!!!! STAY AWAY FROM POTAMKIN DON'T GET FOOLED BY THE CROOKS THE WAY I WAS FOOLED!!!!
