I stumbled across this place one evening while walking to Penn Station. I was looking for a name brand cigar but quickly found out that they only sell their own brand. I was skeptical at that point because I've never liked cigars made by places like this. Well, my mind was changed after smoking the Portes churchill. It had no band, but it didn't matter because the smoke was excellent! I've since tried most of their cigars, which range from good to outstanding. The prices are fair in my opinion - ranging from $6 to $12 a stick. The women who is usually there during the day is a very pleasant person who always seems happy to engage in light conversation with me while I smoke or hand me the remote to the T.V. I wish I was in Newark more often so I could spend more time there. It is small, but the atmosphere is welcoming and laid-back if you decide to smoke your cigar there. I definitely recommend trying it out and experiencing it for yourself.

I paid $32.50 for 2 house made cigars. The cigars were actually ok, I said OK, like not bad but the sticker shock price ended me ever going back. House rolled cigars can cost that much is it's like Rosario's cigars in the bronx, their reputation is excellent and they are all house brand cigars in a variety of different flavors, but I digress, I'm not pluging any business, but only that with Rosario's very strong reputation, the sticks are cheap. This place in Newark is super overpriced and the very polite girl had absolutely no clue about cigars, her excuse was that she didn't smoke, so over-all, I'm not going back.

Before making a purchase, I called the Newark location. The person who answered the phone hung up on me. Boy, do I have a few unanswered questions. Is the wrong number posted on the website? Or did I simply receive bad customer service? But the drama doesn't end there. I also called the two New York locations. With the second number, someone who does not speak English answered. That conversation went no-where. During the third call I was prompted to leave a voice mail message. But if all three stores open at 8 a.m. Why isn't anyone with answers answering the phone?
