As you will know, PW is a beautiful tranquil shore town with some great scenic views. However, despite of being a place with virtually no crime, and where we paid in average over 10K in property taxes, we still have to be afraid of police and where are they going to jump on us. I am the average PW neighbor, with zero traffic violations (not even a parking ticket), and have a cared new brand car.
It happened me a few times that some cops, especially the ones in unmarked vehicles, jumped aggressively chasing on me without apparent reason. A while ago, I was pulled over after I did stop completely in the stop sign next to Louis restaurant (often they hide there). A cop in a Ford Mustang or similar vehicle stopped behind me for a minute, then without an explanation passed me, looked me like, as if he was going to kill me, and left (I guess he realized had nothing against me). Recently, another unmarked vehicle made a dangerous u turn on front of me on Main Street, like to pull over the car on front of me, no idea why. Once they were stopped on the right side, he opened aggressively the door making me stop suddenly (I was already start passing over), and looked at me like if I was supposed to stop as well. This guy then almost jumped on my windshield to check my Registration and Safety Inspection decals, all this after the u turn and blocking traffic. Again looked at me like forgetting my life and let me go to go for the other (I guess) bigger catch.
And then the basic question is, why I have to pay 10K of Taxes to cover in part the salary of these cops, and still have to watch for them as if I was a criminal? Is stressing and unbelievable, I guess they are too bored. Therefore, we should cut on that, instead of now funding them a new headquarters, as they want, in a time when we do not even have space to park the cars when taking the train to the city.
