I've been to Poppy's a number of times and went again last night. It's no exaggeration when I say that their eggplant parm is THEE best I've ever had! And I've had it often- at Poppy's and in other places. It's light, not dripping with oil, and it's gluten-free- even better. The staff is friendly and accommodating, greeting their guests with a smile, like friends that are glad you've come. Prices don't break the bank. Their desserts are delectable- sweet and scrumptious. The bf and I usually share one. I'm partial to their warm pecan pie - a la mode, of course. Poppy's does it right. From start to finish.

Great Italian place in Floral Park! Far better than any restaurant in the city and Little Italy. Poppy’s is the real deal and the chef is Sicilian. Chef Mo makes the best brushetta, arancini, lemon agnolotti (giant lobster ravioli moons) and Antipasto Fantasia (bresaola, soppresata, aged provolone, roasted peppers, arugula, and aged balsamic). Ask for the sampler platter. That alone is enough to feed an army. Always go for the special of the day. The menu has all the ordinary Italian dishes but the specials are what the chef grew up on and eats for dinner every night. Fish is fresh and the chicken pieces have got to be a pound plus. Dessert is not a strong point here. They do not have a pastry chef. It’s like home cooking that’s a day old. Good news is, you will be so stuffed from your entrée and appetizer you won’t need dessert.
