It is now three years later and my now eight year old daughter is an Orange at Popkin Brogna. This weekend she celebrated her 8th birthday with a Dojo party.

Sensei Steve, the newest member of the Popkin Brogna team conducted the party for approximately 15 girls. His boundless energy and good humor was a huge hit with the children and the adults alike. Almost all of whom have never taken a martial arts class before.

The highlight of the party though was my daughter and Sensei Howie cutting the cake with Samuri Sword. The children marveled at it and asked Sensei Howie many questions.

Last Sunday I took my five year old daughter to class for the first time and she can't wait for the next class. This is the first time she's had any real interest in anything athletic. Sensei Howie's unique combination of highly experienced martial artist, professional teacher, and terrific sense of fun is an unbeatable combination.

Having known Sensei Howie and Sensei Joe for personally for many years I can say without hesitation that they are both of the the type of high character individuals that you want your kids learning.

I have 20 years of martial art experience, I'm 6'4 220 pounds male. Working with Howard, I felt like I was a newbie. His skills are amazing and he is an outstanding educator. Clear instructions in plain language complimented by his sense of humor and personality. One of the best schools I ever visited in my whole life (and I traveled the world). 5 stars only because I can't give six. Try it! ;-)

I recently went to a seminar in Dover (UK), Sensi Howard Popkin was taking the seminar on Daito Ryu Aikijutitsu. I all honesty, I did not know what to expect and approached the weekend training with a healthy amount of cynicism. But, over the weekend I found that the teachings were extremely relevant to any martial artists regardless of level in their respective arts.
Personally I would recommend these seminars, I found that the weekend training cemented previously knowledge and built on my understanding, you could almost say it was a missing piece of jigsaw that you have been looking for!

If you have the chance to attend one of his seminars: just go for it!! ... it will change the way you think and perform any type of Jujutsu releated martial arts.
