location in theory is great, but since they've been working on the roads in that area for the past 57 years you may have issues navigating to/from this location. food is...ok. pretty much everything is deep fried and the menu is filled with items containing trans-fat. large cajun fries, 4 grams of trans-fat? err, no. butterfly and popcorn shrimp items are good, but again, not at all healthy. sides are hit and miss as well, with the best options being the mashed potatoes or the green beans. everything else is pretty much a meal itself in terms of calorie content. i will say, the biscuit from here is to die for. soooo good. ALMOST worth the hit to your arteries
the one shining spot are the "naked" blackened chicken tenders, which are also fried but contain just a rub of spices rather than the batter they typically use. result is quite nutritious and tasty. however...this item is not publicized at all, and is in fact made to order. result is that you're waiting for 10 minutes for it to be prepared, which is not aligned with the "fast food" concept.
one maddening thing, and i'm not certain if it's just this location or popeyes in general, is that they absolutely refuse to order or stock knives. one of the three staples of the western utensil arsenal and they refuse to stock it. they fully expect you to eat with your hands, which may work great for most fried chicken, but if you get the naked tenders it becomes a huge slippery mess (not to mention that since they're made to order they're usually way too hot to hold). i have to remember to bring my own knife when i eat here (not kidding) which is ridiculous. i've complained to the manager several times but he was having none of it.
staff otherwise is pleasant and friendly and they really do try very hard to make the most of things. they always apologize for the wait, for the lack of knives, for the unhealthy menu, etc. Not a bad place to visit, just not something you want to make a habit of
