Went here to get food with a friend. Was waiting 5-10 mins for a waiter to stop by (no one was even dining so it was not busy). Wasn't given any silverware, water, etc. My buddy went to use the bathroom, got back to the table, and we decided to leave because there was no service. On our way out some guy demanded money for using the bathroom. We kindly said no and he punched me right in the face. Social media is a wonderful thing...we easily found him online and its one of the owners. What a shady place.

I was hesitant to enter this establishment at first, but I am so glad I did! Pom Pom diner is definitely one of my favorite cheap diners in Manhattan! It was so refreshing to have such a friendly waitress. I will definitely bring people here who are visiting the city with a tight budget.

Five of us stopped for lunch on our way to the intrepid air and space museum. I had the chicken kabob pita which I enjoyed and was fairly priced.

Delicious pancakes and French toast. The coffee was excellent (with real chilled cream). Western omelette and potatoes were also above average. Our waitress was friendly and punctual. The prices were reasonable. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their food as well. Would definitely eat here again. There appears to be only the one waitress, so if they get busy patience is required.
I totally did not get punched in the face.

People often lament the lack of affordable eateries in Manhattan. That's because they don't know this strip full of car washes, car dealerships and authentic diners in this area. I was with friends and place we wanted to go to was too crowded. So instead of abandoning the night, we decided to eat at this wonderful diner. It has all the typical diner food you'll find in any small town and the quality is high (in the caliber of diners) for the price. If I'm in the area and looking for a place to eat, I will skip all the fancy restaurants and hit this diner again
