I love this park. Best deal around NYC. My kids and i had a blast; from 12 noon till 10 pm for 30 dlrs each we got on all the rides over and over. workers should be more professional is my only complaint. Overall excellent!!!

We decided try rye pool. They opened two and a half hours late because there weren't enough life guards. That in itself is incredibly unprofessional. Nelson the "peace " officer clearly knows no rules, let us in with our stroller (we didn't know we weren't allowed), told us to just fold it up. We finally get in the pool, after having our coolers checked while on the side of the pool. We were in the pool for about twenty minutes and were called out to be told we can't have the stroller in. So I questioned why we were even allowed and Nelson tells me he did me a favor and I threw him under the bus. First of all, how dare he even say such a thing. It's not my fault he works in a place and doesn't know the rules. And it isn't a favor because we were made to come out of the pool so we can bring the stroller back to the car. At this point I wanted to leave, but Nelson the " peace " officer refused to let us use the same entrance we came in to leave. Told myself, with a stroller and a few bags and a two year old along with my eight month pregnant friend to go down the stairs just to come back up to the car. So I told him no, call the police then. He tells me he is the police, I asked for a badge, he points to an iron on emblem on his shirt. I said no, the real police and he identified himself as an officer for Rye. So not only is he being spiteful, he's representing himself as an officer of the law, which I believe is against the law. So when I told him we were leaving he opens the gates and says have fun. So now he's being spiteful, and mocking. No one there has any customer service skills whatsoever!

I used to go to playland back in late 70's and 80's. I have to tell you it was awesome then and it's awsome now. Love the place....

Went to Playland today for Father's Day. I haven't been there for many years. My daughter enjoyed it, only because I think she doesn't quite get the pattern of sorts from the bigger picture. She's only 3.
The lines are generally short, and it's definitely a good recreational place. The majority of rides make me sick after the first hour though. They're mostly circular, as in goes in a circle. Only those train rides do a little more than a circle. That paradigm of spinning around is boring compared to paying through the nose going to Disney World (and they got some spinning around rides too, though much fewer, unfortunately).
Would I go again... sure, if the kids are bored and there's a substantial discount for the family. There are other neighboring parks to consider. Variety makes my day.
It's a pretty well run park. Staff seem well trained, seems pretty hard working, friendly and consistent with quality of service. Maybe too consistent to the point where I felt there isn't enough cultural diversity among the customer facing staff itself. In some ways, being a New Yorker, I sense a social divide quite easily that makes me uncomfortable despite a pleasant atmosphere.
