i have been shopping there for almost 3 years. totally a great place and great managment. in fact i often ask the manager there for clues on how to bbq or cook various items i buy there, and he is always ready with no-nonsense advice. i love the place. i wish it could remain open on sundays, though

Every time I go in to get a loaf of gluten-free bread, which is kept in a freezer alongside bags of frozen fruit, I come away with sticky hands. I complained to the store's owner and instead of checking out the problem for himself he said, "I'll wait until someone else complains."

I went in here on a whim, because this place looks so cool-- like it's straight out of the 1970s. I was impressed to find that they've actually got a lot of great stuff, including one of the more impressive beer selections in the neighborhood. I found some varieties I have not seen many other places in New York, and lots more bottles I'd never seen before. It's such a trip to visit this old fashioned grocery store, but I was happy to discover that they often have what I need at reasonable prices.

They frequently have cheaper prices and good sales on meat. The checkout people are both rude and nice, pretty much like any other store.

This is an ok place if you want to grab a few quick items and prefer to avoid the crowd at Fairway. Just don't expect any customer service here. The staff at the checkout counters are extremely rude.
