Great bloody marry!

The only reason I'm giving this bar four, rather than five, stars is because the lock on one of the bathroom doors was broken, and a girl walked in on me peeing even though another girl was supposed to be keeping bathroom-door-watch for me.

I came to Pine Box Rock Shop for the Vegan Shop Up, which was held there on Sunday, June 10th. The Vegan Shop Up was basically a gathering of vegan vendors, and they set up tables and wares throughout the bar. I think a bar wasn't the best venue to host such an event, just because it was crowded and difficult to navigate, but I'm glad I had the chance to visit Pine Box Rock Shop.

I love the beer selection and the unique mixed drink offerings that are scribbled in chalk on the wall. Also, I'd love to come back to try the homemade pretzels and vegan empanadas. Instead, I sampled some vegan food from the vendors at the Shop Up.

I'm rather intimidated by and have had bad experiences with "hipsters," but every person I spoke to at this bar was super friendly. I left Williamsburg/Bushwick with a more positive impression of the kind of people who live and hang out there.

Great beer list. Nice spot close to the subway. No kitchen but empanadas are served at the bar. Also there was a taco truck down the block.

The best damn Bloody Mary you will ever have. Promise.

Gets super bro-y and packed during games (which is weird since it's a vegan bar in Bushwick), but overall great vibes, amazing craft beer on tap (and cask!) selection, friendly staff, and lots of dogs. In other words, pine box has all the wonderful things in life under one roof.

Great atmosphere. Music is always solid and played at a good level to still have conversation. Always lively but not packed. Really good bartenders. Vegan empanadas are always a yummy end to the night.
