The food is excellent here, and it's not expensive either. The spring rolls and chicken soup in particular are fantastic, as is the chicken fried rice. The staff are not the nicest people, but the food makes up for it.

This was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a long time. the waiters were extremely unfriendly... we watched them be rude to 2 other customers... they brought out the wrond order to one customer and tried to convince him that it was what he had ordered. the hanoi pork chop was absolutely disgusting and inedible. the meat was dried beyond chewability. the grilled steak was dried and pounded thin... just inedible... pho bang a few yards away is a thousand times better and more friendly

Since time is money, i refuse to spend too much time on this review so I'll make it short and sweet. My husband and I went to this restaurant in the past and had a good (not a great) experience, besides the parking is a nightmare so don't drive there.
We recently went back with our 13 year old son and he ordered chicken and rice, plain and simple. The chicken and rice came with crushed peanuts sprinkled all over his plate. I explained to the waiter that the menu item did not mentioned peanuts and our son is highly allergic. He then explained to the woman at the register who came over and pointed out that although the peanuts are not mentioned on the item that we ordered, it is mentioned at the top of the menu.
Needless to say, they refused to fix the problem and suggested I purchase another item for our son.
Are you kidding me. He should eat it or order another plate "without peanuts?
The first order did not mention peanut on the items itself so we did not expect something that was NOT mentioned.
It's a shame they would rather lose a customer than make a small change.
Too bad I can't rate this 0 stars for just the attitude towards the issue...
Enough said!

First let's start with the good. The location of this restaurant is very convenient to the subway. Surrounding it are plenty of other options to eat and even a supermarket to buy ingredients for making something delicious at home. That's pretty much where it ends.
The parking lot is shared so it's extremely crowded and not to mention spaces are tight. Just across the parking lot is another well known Vietnamese restaurant which has food on par with what this place offers. Here are where things severely derail from mediocre to last time I'm coming back.
In a party of four, two ordered pho, one ordered pork chop over dry vermicelli and one ordered lemon beef with rice. We all decided to share a large order of spring rolls as an appetizer. Alls well when the two orders of pho come out quickly. Ok, so the spring rolls should be next, right? Nope, about another 15 minutes pass and the pork chop entree comes out, too charred. Comes with a spring roll but it was fried to the point of no return, blackened and hard. We waited and spoke to our waiter on two different occasions to check on the spring rolls and last entree. They went to the back and never came back to let us know what was going on. We waited another 40-45 minutes, by now some of my party had already finished eating. I flagged the waiter down and asked again to check on the "APPETIZER" and fourth entree. Again, with the useless "I'll check" response. Just then another waiter came out with an order of spring rolls but seems confused as to which table it went. After discussing with the other staff, they decided another table (who came in after we ordered) ordered it. That was it, I screamed at them until they quickly went to the kitchen and within minutes, the spring rolls miraculous came out. Almost an hour after ordering, the lemongrass beef finally made its way out... and was dry, tough and lacked any lemongrass flavor.
Keeping in mind that the entire staff is filled with new faces, I can only come to the conclusion that what other reviewers praise have left the building along with it's former staff. Inexcusable service and management of the kitchen even if the food is amazing, which it is far from. Elmhurst might be known to have good pho and we all don't expect 4 star service at places like these but this place missed the target on all fronts. There are better Vietnamese options within a short walk and I implore anyone to choose them over this mess.
