I bring my kitten here for his check ups. I love it! They are all so nice and friendly. As for shopping here I like it too. They always have everything nice and neat. Love how each isle let's you know where to find what you need. Everyone at the store is also nice and friendly. Definitely better then Petco.

Personally I worked here and I liked it alot but there were a few things making this a five star rating. #1 is Banfield pet hospital but that's not even a part of the actual store so that's not really fair, either way don't bring your pets to that hospital it's awful. The employees are nasty and rude and angry and don't care about the pet owners at all. Grooming salon is great, the groomers really and truly love the animals and do their best to make the people and dogs comfortable! Victoria is the best groomer and she truly loves the animals and is dedicated to making the pet parent happy. Dog training classes are as good as you can possibly get Mary Ellen, the dog trainer is absolutely amazing. She's kind and sweet to everyone and she's an incredible dog trainer and she's just so good with the dogs and pet parents. The cashiers and kind, helpful and friendly and they love the people and the animals and they're truly dedicated to helping. Animal Care isn't the best because they need more people but Theresa, the head of pet care is the sweetest most helpful and knowledgeable person you may ever meet she always offers great advice for all different small exotic animals of all specific breeds. The management is falling far in between, there are certain managers which are great and helpful and kind to the animals, parents and employees but the head managers, not so much they don't treat the employees fairly and put too much pressure and expect too much out of everyone, more than what's necessary and make little mistakes a big deal. They don't want people working there they any robots to do everything perfect. All in all, shop here, train your dog here, groom your dog here, don't work here and don't go to the vet here. Dr. V on forest ave is the best vet on staten island, price wise, and care wise.

This review is for the Petsmart on Forest Avenue. I have been coming here for over 6 years for grooming and vaccinations for my 3 pets. I called to make an appointment for my dogs to be groomed and was told I needed to renew rabies shots for my animals. I was told I can come in today to have those shots done so the dogs could be groomed the following day. I meet with a woman named Cathy who should not be interacting with people. She may be good with dogs, but clearly people are not her forte. For a place that just opened, you would think she just worked an 18 hour shift. She's immediately aggravated and doesn't want to do any additional work. I won't be returning here for any services as I feel I was treated like a moron for coming without an appointment even though I was advised to. Petsmart: you need to pay more to find more competent employees because these people act like trash and ultimately will put you under. Now that I see the terrible reviews you already have, I understand the dynamic.

Great place, I can get everything I need for my dog in one stop. I was watching a dog training class, and I was very impressed with the person running the class. She interacted with the people and the dogs and everyone and their dogs were having fun. When the class was finished I asked one of the people who were leaving what the trainer's name was, the woman told me that the trainer's name was Mary Ellen and that she was excellent, and this was her second class with her. If I lived closer I would have signed up for a class then.

This particular Petsmart is okay (the store portion) however i do not trust the hospital AT ALL. One of my dogs had an allergic reaction to a specific vaccine, and the staff were very confusing and NON helpful for the at home treatment portion. I did not feel comfortable leaving my other dog for a surgery procedure. also, if you take a pet there you would want a consistent doctor. Every time i went there was a different veterinarian, so none of them knew exactly who we were. Some staff members were actually very rude and sarcastic. AND the puppy plan is ridiculous hidden fees EVERYWHERE. i recently took my pet to the Hyland Animal Hospital and everything went great. Perfect actually. Blood work and the procedure took 4 hours and was LESS expensive than this place. They also told me it would cost extra for the machine shock to bring my dog Buttercup back to life if she didnt wake up from the anesthesia! WHO SAYS THAT. no clue wth they were doing & They would have also ripped me off for almost $200.00 more, they wanted me to leave my pet from 730 am-7 pm RIDICULOUS. WILL not be returning to the petsmart hospital portion ever. BUT the hair cuts were good, if you get them done by anyone, get it done by Ellie, sweetest girl there.
