Okay, I have been to many cities in France and have to say that this place has a croissant that is comparable, if not better than the ones in France. Try to go as early as possible, as pastries are baked daily very early in the day :-)

Even though I am new on the street of macarons, I know quality and great customer service when I see it. One day I set on a quest to try macarons after hearing all about them from my friends in California and Belgium. I did a search here on Yelp & visited two shops with great reviews (this one and one in Little Falls, Asalt & Buttery). Petit Paris was my second stop.
After locating the shop and not being able to find parking on the street (Montclair street parking is almost never possible to find, especially at lunchtime). When I finally found my way to the parking garage and found a spot, I walked around, attempting to refind Petit and get my macaron on.
When I finally found it, I saw it was a small shop with outdoor seating available. Once I walked in, I was overwhelmed by the variety of flavors that they offered. Everything from Rose to Pistaccio to Jasmine Green Tea to Hibiscus.
I bought one of each flavor, two of some (I am a sucker for Chocolate Hazelnut). The price wasn't too bad. A bit more than than I paid at the first stop.
The girl that waited on me was a bit colder than I'd like. She was not mean or rude at all, just not warm & welcoming like I would expect with prices like that.
When I got home, i started an immediate taste test from the two places. I have to say the quality of the macarons weren't up to the same level as the ones from Asalt & Buttery. The flavors, however, were so different and tongue tantalizing that I had to try each and every one.
I would definitely go here again if ever in the Montclair area to give them another try but I wouldn't go out of my way like I did on this day again.

I can't believe the other reviewers ate at the same place we did. Friends of the owner, maybe? The desserts all looked lovely, but the one we had was stale. For these prices, don't sell me stale desserts, thanks. Sandwich--was looking forward to the "sacre coeur" which was supposed to have avocados, eggs, cucs, tomato, lettuce and mayo on a baguette. Baguette was less-than-fresh, and it was basically lettuce, cucumber and tomato on bread. I had to send a search party to find the avocado and egg, which were the only ingredients that would have remotely justified the price. Maybe more time spent worrying about quality and value would be better than the time wasted coming up with pretentious names for the food items. I felt totally ripped off, and when at check-out the guy asked how everything was, we told him. His answer was a mumbled excuse that sounded like "yeah, sometimes the sandwiches don't come out right". Seriously??? Will NEVER spend another dime there again.

Petit Paris is a great quaint place to have quiches, desserts, and coffee. I love the Cappuccino, fruit tarts, creme brulee, and macaroons. I recommend it highly.
