Been going to Perfect Paws with our Shih Tzu since it was originally on Atlantic Ave. Kind care, careful work, and the owner Tom has a way with dogs and cats that is uncanny.

Do you Love your Dog?? Then I would seriously think twice about bring your dog to here.
Moved to the neighborhood just over a year ago, consider myself a good customer, in 13 months, had my dog groomed 6 times and 5 baths. Today I brought her in for a Bath, when I called yesterday, they asked me 3 times, "Just a bath," I told them yes, as she was just formed a little over a month ago. While I was there, I as mentioned that when the groom her, the head has been left a bit full, and in the future to please make a but shorter.
My wife, a small business owner and a high powered exec went to pick her up. When she got there, she asked who to make the check out to and how much. She was a bit flawed when the price was about 3 times higher than I told her for a bath. They said they groomed her and that is what I asked for,
Needless to say, this was not at all accurate. I will not go into details, but the owner was extremely nasty with her and told her "you are never satisfied, and to never come back"! Wow, to say she (and I when I heard this) was absolutely shocked! I have never been anything other than nice, complementary (once told them her eyes were not clean when I got her) and always sure to tip.
This is rude and no way to run a neighborhood small business. I felt the need to write about this, perhaps you may just want to avoid using Perfect Paws, they are far form PERFECT!
FYI Every time you go, they tell you their credit card machine is broken (13 months??) a bit weird.

Tom is the only person in the city who can handle our cute little hostile (very hostile) kitty. In seconds, Tom is able to trim her claws without using brute force. Thanks Tom!

This is an honest to goodness story of how rude the service was at this establishment. I dropped my dog, a spaniel for grooming on 8/2/2009 for a 1:30 appointment. When I got there, the man at the desk told me that I had to be back by 3:30 pm as they would be closed at that time. Well, I got there around 3:15 pm and what ensued was the most disgusting conduct I have ever experienced as a client. The guy told me that the dog would actually not be finished until 5:30 pm. I had inquired as to why he did not call my cell phone since I was coming from a meeting in downtown manhattan which I cut short so that I could make it back on time. When I brought up this point, this guy turned it around and called me an "as**ole" for being demanding and that I could not understand that things run late. He actually blamed me for showing up fifteen minutes EARLY. He then proceeded to tell me to take my dog back and threw me out of the store. I guess this idiot did not understand my point: If you are running very late, use the contact number and give a call. That is all that I wanted and could care less whether the dog was done at 3:30 or 5:30. It was the establishment that was adamant that I come back before their supposed 3:30 closing! What nerve! You guys need to reevaluate your conduct. And for all the expletives I threw back at you for calling me an as***le, you deserve it.......
